Bayless will make some money this offseason. Major shortage of point guards. He'll even possibly get a starting gig...Dallas or Houston.

Bayless isn't a PG.

Bayless isn't good enough to warrant an Fbomb.

Mayo into Bayless is lateral.

Mayo into Bayless is lateral.

No, it's a step backwards. Neither are PGs, but Bayless isn't even close to the raw offensive force that Mayo can be in bursts.

Bayless is a decent PG, i don't know what you guys are talking about... he ran the point quite well in toronto when calderon was injured.

Bayless has all the tools to be an offensive force, and most likely at a much cheaper price. Very solid signing by the Grizz tbh.

A lot of guys have the tools. It's what you do with them that matters. I think he
Is either his 3rd or 4th team already.

He's a combo guard, basically a poor mans George Hill, minus the long arms and defensive prowess. There's a reason that a slow Unathletic Spaniard beat him out for the PG spot.

He's a combo guard, basically a poor mans George Hill, minus the long arms and defensive prowess. There's a reason that a slow Unathletic Spaniard beat him out for the PG spot.

I agree he's a combo guard, but like hill, he can run the point well enough. I think he's a better shot creator than hill and his man-defense is just as good.

we obviously rate him differently, so i'll agree to disagree with you... small sample size, yes but the 5 games he started when calderon was out
he averaged 21.8 points on 54 per cent shooting (57 per cent from 3) with 7.6 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals.

no.
if you compare him to Hill, he is the far better play maker. Hill is the better defender. that's a wash.
Hill makes 8 million per on his new contract.
Bayless makes 3 million on his new contract.
that's not a wash. obviously.
I take Bayless on 3M.
if Hill had signed a contract for 3M per as well, I still take Bayless. far more upside.

Griz want to stay below the tax. Couldn't do that with Mayo. Bayless is a good replacement for the price.

Hes done just fine when given minutes both in Portland and Toronto. Hes barely like 22-23 yrs old too.
