View Full Version : Spurs fans, why are you so down?

Some of you guys are acting like Kings' fans in 2002. Your team has 4 championships. Yes, the refs suck ass in the NBA but this isn't news. Your team fell victim to it. At the end of the day, your team still has 4 championships and a lot of banners inside the ATT Center. Your team choked but it happens to the best of us. Mavs choked in 2006 and it only took them 5 years to get back to the Finals and finally win it. There is hope. Believe.
Be happy.

Because they sincerely believed that this team was good enough to be a lock for the championship, it was already theirs in their minds and then "taken away from them."
I'm not down, just pissed off.

Spurs could get even stronger, Miami will be over its built in excuse, Thunder may actually embrace team ball and Lakers will reload.
Saying it right now Spurs will win as many as any other team (either 2:1 or 1:1:1), then with at least 5, or more likely 6 rings, TD retires.
Why the fear when Spurs have played two bad games and barely lost the last one even with a near historic performance by both Ibaka and Durant?
Spurs have the home court for those who think it would not matter, based on statistics and the great Spurs team that still recently won 20 games - it will in the end lead to the Spurs going to the finals!
Most of all, I am calling out all those who have TOTALLY given up hope on a team that has shown resliency throughout many, many years - for the rest of you keep the faith and if needed call on recent and historical messages to stay strong and believe in yourself and others:
We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender Winston Churchill
IF
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son! Rudyard Kipling - If at: http://www.kipling.org.uk/poems_if.htm
Stop doubting and believe.' Thomas said to him, 'My Lord and my God!' Then Jesus told him, 'Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed' (John 20:26-29).
I want some nasty - Gregg Popovich, 2012
BELIEVE OH THEE OF LITTLE FAITH = SPURS = GOT THIS!
The officiating pisses me off but the Spurs letting a 15 point half time lead turn into an 8 point loss pisses me off 100, no, 1000x more.

True. The Mavs showed last year that in order to beat Stern and his refs, you have to just play better than the other team. Do you not remember game 6 of the Finals last year? Stern and his refs were trying desperately to give it to the Heat but they missed at least half of their freebies and the Mavs were just better. To quote Chris Bosh "they wanted it more".
I'm not mad.
I knew this was a posibility.

Always hard to see your team go out, but it becomes especially more bitter and bitter each year as Duncan's/Big 3's time is up. Not surprised to see so many people down.

Because the Larry O'Brien was theirs had they made the finals.

It was their best chance since 2007 to ring, so it's a bummer to fall short like that, especially after that ridiculous 20-game run. They'll be back in the hunt next year, though.
Plus, not only are the Spurs the winningest pro franchise in any sport over the past 15 years, they also have 4 titles, and those can never be taken away. :hat
GO SPURS GO!!!!!
If Dirk and the boys in blue were making a great run during the twilight of his career and towards the end of a Mavs era, and you felt like the refs helped put the nail in the coffin youd be down too brah. Last year sucked too because it felt the same way but atleast last year most reasonable spurfans felt the Grizz simply beat the Spurs. The fourth quarter of yesterdays game OKC wasnt playing alone.

The refs were not bad tbh. Don't listen to biased Spurs fans claiming only OKC got the calls.

5 points were wiped off the board due to bullshit calls. 6 if ginobili made the and 1 he should have got. I don't buy conspiracy bullshit but it was still horrible officiating. It was sad just for basketball, the players should have been able to decide the outcome, and we as fans were robbed of a killer ending and/or a game 7
