Hey Spurs fans (and Pistons fans), it was a heck of a season and a heck of a series as we all figured it'd be! Boring my butt. If this was boring basketball, you don't know basketball.
First game 7 in 11 years, and it was close the whole way- what more could you ask for? Both teams showed they are the best team on any given night and the Spurs were the best team at the end of game 7.
For the Spurs, it's hard to hate them as a Pistons fan because they're a mirror image of the Pistons! They fought hard for the home court and it paid off big for them in the end!
For the Pistons, they've proven everyone wrong again by lasting until the end of the 4th quarter of the 7th game when the national press said we'd not make it out of the 2nd round and never past Miami. You can't hold onto the title any longer than they did without repeating! And repeating is very statistically rare in sports.
Both sets of fans should be greatly proud of our teams and the way we play basketball- great hustle, lots of heart, and awesome defense. WE are the fun teams to watch in the NBA... anyone can score, not everyone can play D.
Congrats to the fans of the new champs from the fans of the old champs! If we have to lose to someone, at least it's San Antonio!
