The Celtics would love to learn Kevin Garnett’s plans, hopes and desires as soon as possible, but according to sources close to the situation, the Hall of Famer-to-be might be waiting on the team.

By all indications, the Celts have made it clear they want Garnett to return for at least the 2012-13 season, and there is strong evidence from those involved that he is more than willing to discuss that possibility.

The article doesn't mention anything about him retiring.

That's why all this rumored talk about Garnett-to-the-Spurs is and has been ridiculous.

He's either retiring or playing another year with the Celtics. Spurs don't want him anyways. He and Timmy hate each other

The local SA media has certainly done their part to drive up this unsubtaniated rumor.

Would be nice for the Celtics to decide to rebuild...

its a shame. he's literally the perfect fit for this team if we still want to make a run or 2 while Timmy is still around

I've never cared for Garnett. Never will. But he seems to have a bit much left in the tank to retire? Up to him though. His knee's and rest of his body are probably too messed up that he might call it quits even though his game is still respectable.

But I like talking about Garnett, Nash and Melo coming down and playing next to Bonner and Splitter.

Oh, Gee!!

Knowing there's less than a 1% we would sign Garnett, I must say I wouldn't mind it if we did. Same would go for Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Durant, or any other player that could help us win more rings.

Regardless of where the fuck the interest came from, it's all rumor and wishful thinking of the part of whoever. Any basketball idiot, who has followed Garnett would know that the guy is ultra-resistant to change. Therefore, he isn't looking to join another team. It's Boston or nothing for him.

I think if they really are interested, he will listen to their offer. I expect someone in the media to break it that the Spurs are the frontrunners to get Garnett. We get a 15 page thread on how awesome it is. Then another report comes out that Garnett returns to Boston. :depressed
