He could dunk it, and it would be a great picture.
Instead, he kept dribbling in order to make seconds run. That shows he is completely unselfish, intelligent, great team-player. A truly all times winner.

i'm more proud of this play, than any of Manu's blinding highlights.

Kinda sums up manu doesnt.

Chance for fame and posters and Sportscenter replays.

But he goes for the TEAM play, the SMART play.

dribbles blowin 3 more seconds, and then SWISHING 2 big free throws.

Hell yeah I do, and he should have dunked it. It was over anyway, sometimes you need to end it with a punctuation mark.

Man...I was on my feet awaiting a monster slam by Manu. Then he does the "smart" thing and dribbles more time off clock.

FUCK THAT...SLAM IT!!!!!

I agree. Shove the rock right down the Pistons' throats.

haha, I was waiting too, like everyone. The closing act.

But this play I like it most. We wouldn't be talking about an easy dunk at the end.
He had amazing dunks during the game. And this was... different, smarter.

He can be amazingly cold blooded sometimes.

Anyway... we won!!!!

That was a brilliant (PAINFUL) play, but the props go to Horry for throwing the long bomb in the first place.

What would you have prefered a smashing dunk, or that play?

Yep, that Fucker is total bad ass, becuase he just followed up that Olympic ring, with a "fuck you detroit, I'll take an NBA ring" because he is... well....

Seriously! Dude should have dunked it because it was a sure 2 points instead of the free throws. The extra couple of seconds he wasted would have been equaled by the time the Pistons would have needed to bring it up court again after the dunk.

But whatever, dude was f-ing clutch tonight. 8-13 for 23 points! So efficient!

Manu should've threw that mother fucker down, that would've made it a 4 possession game.

Damn Hot Dog.

If Manu just had some sense of time and score . . . .

Dude was freakin' awesome tonight. Easier to play well when you only have a city (and not an entire country) on your back.

His intentions were probably great. But you always take two points over anything else.

Well, I think he knew he was going to be given two FT anyway. He got them, and score. Finally he got two points, and three seconds more.

Maybe so, but it would have been even better, and not that I'm complaining, is if he would have just thrown the ball up as high as he possibly could, and just looked over at stupid ass Kid Rock, and gave him the Bird, and said, "Hey give this to Mason, Eminem, Stevie W., etc. etc. etc." and then the ball hits the court as the buzzer goes off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You never pass up a sure dunk. Ever.

Manu didn't want to rub it in. It would have been like Desmond Mason's dunk at the end of game 2 in 2002. If it was the Lakers I'd say go for it after the way Phil Jackson rubbed it in the Spurs faces in 2001, but th e Pistons are worthy of respect and I'm glad the team didn't disrespect another quality team like that.
