Confirming what @DraftExpress just tweeted: Wiz have agreed to trade Rashard Lewis and 2012 second-rounder for Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza

Its Okafor and Ariza for Lewis and the 46th pick in the draft. Hornets can also buy out Lewis's contract before July 1st and saves them 30 million apparently in cap room. Or they could let Lewis's contract expire after the season.

I'd be fine with a Bonner amnesty and NO shipping Rashard to SA. Do it, Monty.

From ESPN:

The Hornets, sources say, are planning to waive Lewis before July 1 to slice roughly $10 million off the $24 million that he is owed in 2012-13. With the resultant financial flexibility, New Orleans is confident in its ability to re-sign restricted free agent Eric Gordon (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3431/eric-gordon) this summer to ensure it doesn't lose the best player it received in exchange for face-of-the-franchise Chris Paul (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/2779/chris-paul) in December.

Per Rotoworld

The Wizards have traded Rashard Lewis and the No. 46 pick in the 2012 draft to the Hornets, in exchange for Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza.
Lewis is owed $23.7 million in the final year of his monumental contract, but the Hornets can (and probably will) buy him out for $13.7 million. Meanwhile, Okafor is owed $28 million over the next two years (with a $14.6 million Early Termination Option next summer), while Ariza is owed $14 million over two years (with a $7.7 million player option next summer). The No. 46 pick is little more than a sweetener, but the Hornets now have copious salary cap space and Anthony Davis inbound.

Screw Gordon, who I like on the rare occasions he is healthy Hornets could add two premier free agents and Davis.
Washington, sucks and are dumb.

Actually, screw that. Let NO buy him out and bring him in for cheap (as long as Bonner being amnestied is still involved).

that would be a wasted amnesty, he's making 7 mil in two remaining years

Scro, I'm heading to Houston for the weekend, leaving tomorrow, and need to know if the Armadillo Palace is a good place for 4 dudes to eat, drink, and watch Game 5 of the Finals.

Both of those moves would be great. Sometimes after a guy is overpaid, the league overreacts and no one wants to sign him for any money -- in which case, Rashard would be great to bring in.

But if someone wants to offer him the midlevel, they can have him.

Ehh...John Wall, Jordan Crawford, Trevor Ariza, Nene, and Emeka Okafor is at least a somewhat respectable starting lineup in the NBA.

Haven't watched a sporting event there, although you can't go wrong with the food. If I'm watching a game in the area, I usually go to a place called The Marquis II (2631 Bissonnet St. (just a couple blocks from Goode Co.). They got these Long Island Iced Teas that'll put the hurt on you, and Thursdays they got a food truck called Bernie's Burgers that is pretty legit.

If you guys stick with Armadillo, go by the Quis afterwards just to sample one of the teas. It'd be a solid way for you to toast the coronation of King James.

Good enough for 7th/8th in the east one would think.

I understand what New Orleans is doing by dumping potentially almost $30 million in salaries the next couple years, but not sure what Washington is doing. Maybe their roster is a bit better but they still don't look like that much of an improved team. Okafor has actually regressed the past several seasons and injuries are starting to take over his body. And I think most people know by now that Ariza at best is a good role player on an already good team. Wizards still don't have any shooters and now have two bigs who are solid but both injuries waiting to happen. And now they probably don't make any major moves the next couple of seasons and are just putting a true rebuild on hold for a couple more seasons. Putting a rebuilding situation on hold is something you do when your team is still relevant and still has a chance to make a playoff run with the core you have, not what you do when your team is one of the worst teams in the league.

Good deal. I'm visiting a friend who lives in Pearland, and he hooked us up with some diamond club seats for the Astros-Indians game Saturday.... 6 rows behind home plate, free food and drink. They are like Marathon Oil's CEO's tickets.

Agreed. It's not like they were on the cusp of the playoffs. Not only were they in the inferior East, they were wayyyyyyyyy out of a playoff spot (15 games back in a season that was only 66 games long :wow).

Maybe they can make the playoffs, but Wall would need a massive leap and their bigs would have to stay healthy. But 15 games (actually more in a reg season) is a lot to make up in one season and getting Ariza/Okafor might not cut it.

Okafor and Ariza won't add more than 10 wins. They're gonna need Nene and Wall to step up and hope that Beal will add something. Even then, they're gonna be 1st round fodder for Miami. Just a bad trade.

I'll take it!!!!!!!!!!

It was a phenom of a trade. Spurs had to dump their first rounder to save 12M. You got their 2nd rounder for the privelage of them saving you 30M :lol
