Not going to happen, but what if Tim signed elsewhere? I am sure there are plenty good teams that wouldn't mind having him.

What then?

I think that is the one thing that would tarnish his career. Considering all the times he has promised to stay in SA, it would really make him look bad. Duncan is one of the few players in history to stay with one team his whole career, and that's really a feather in his cap.

The Spurs would blow the team up and start over. Aside from KL and maybe DG, everyone else would be on the trade table.

What then?

I say we nuke the whole place from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Every team in the league would want him.. Kobe would toss that bitch Gasol off a cliff to get Tim in LA.. But he would not leave..

He would not do it but if Tim left anyone in SA that was MAD is a troll. Tony is not leading the Spurs to anything he rode Tim to 3 rings as it is..

But Tim would not leave..

tbh I think Tim is beyond that. Obviously it's not going to happen, but if it did I can't help but think I would side with Timmy on the signing. He's earned that. He has my respect and while I'm mainly a Spurs fan he's probably the first real player that I can say if he signed somewhere else I would be a true fan of his.

He would teach Griffin his ways, unleashing the true beast on the rest of the league, tbh... it would be incredible...

Hypothetically speaking it would depend why he left. If it was to take the minimum with the Heat to secure another ring or two I would be pissed (for me its about the hardware you earn not the rings your able to trade/sign yourself into). On the other hand if there was some bigman in the league he thought he could mentor while helping that team be a contender, and for some reason the Spurs FO (however unlikely) didn't like the guy he wanted to mentor and decided to go another direction, then I couldn't blame him for leaving.

Point is, it would depend on why he was leaving. Since there is pretty much no chance of that happening, doesn't really matter.

First off, you would thank the fuck out of him for making the spurs the most successful franchise in the history of sports...and then the city will try to figure out they are gonna make up for the lost revenue Timmy has brought this city. And then you pray the lottery gods would shine upon us for the 3rd time..end of story..

If he signed elsewhere i'd wish him the best of luck and hope he wins another couple of championships to further is legacy.

I would be shocked and sad. That would be harder for me to take than any of the spurs playoff losses. For me, it's going to be weird in a few years watching the spurs without Tim Duncan.

what is the point of even starting this thread with your first words being "it's not going to happen?"

What if Duncan retired from basketball and went into training to become the Ultimate Fighting Champion?

what if DMC went elsewhere?

Not going to happen, but what if he posted elsewhere? I am sure there are plenty shit boards that wouldn't mind having him.

tbh in that scenario I'd like to see him in Lakers with Bryant. He would get a spotlight he's never had in SA. He would look damn good in purble and gold too.

Fuck you. Your a disgrace to all Spurs fans. You shouldn't even be here. Be gone.
