I think we could offer him MLE. He's long and athletic and can block shots.

Dude is 38 years old..

But a better big defender then anyone other then tim on our roster. Averaged 9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in just 22 minutes a game this year.

You have to say yes to that if you want to contend and your teams interior D has been a flaw. If you want to rebuild and go for a youth movement then no. I'd love him here.

Worth a look, too bad we couldn't get him sooner...

Theo Ratliff 2.0

Spurs need to do something about the interior d but pickings are pretty slim

He'll always block shots, because he's never been afraid to leave his own man wide open to do so.

But, of Houston's regular rotation players last year, he was the worst in terms of points per possession allowed while he was the on the floor. That's not an end-all-be-all defensive stat, but it should be very disconcerting if you're thinking he's going to improve the overall team defense.

And he's not getting younger.

I would take him in a flash. 7-9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 25 minutes? isn't this exactly what Spurs fans wanted? Aint no Tyson Chandlers or Serge Ibakas coming through that door, Work with what's available. But if I were him, I'd take chump change to play for Miami. Better chance of winning a ring there (sadly).

Even in his prime a lot his blocks came after his man beat him and he blocked their shot from behind. Still a block, but as pointed out above, not a great team D player. Wouldn't work well in the Spurs system IMHO. A system that relies on help D. Could he learn? maybe, but he is 38

They almost got him in 09 and even then he was a little old. I know that until duncan retires theyre kind taking it one season at a time but i would consider him a last resort...unless he gets 10-15 minutes tops

He's a better target with the vet min than Rashard Lewis because he actually fills a need and isn't redundant.

He's so old now. We need youth and athleticism. He would've been great 10 years ago.

Would rather have a Euro who's a decade younger tbh
