Both won championship,MVP and finals mvp same year.
Who's the better player? 03 Duncan or 2012 LBJ
Put homerism aside.

Statistically speaking, you could argue that they're both in the top 5 playoff runs in NBA history..

Jordan in '91 is clearly #1, but 2003 Timmy and 2012 Lebron can match any others, off the top of my head..

2012 LBJ replaces 86 Bird at SF.

i dont think timmay played with another 2 other players still in their prime on his team

the heats run this year, considering they playing in the pathetic east has been pushed too to many 5-6 series games....

i blame stern for giving the cheat a fake ass western team to play against in the finals

It's a toss up I think Spurs had a better team than the Heat this year but at the same time the Spurs had a more difficult run (Phx, LA, Dallas). So I'd go with Timmy he was just a monster beat the defending champs and Dirk no easy task.

I'd go with Timmy even though Lebron was a friggin' monster these playoffs, Timmy was unstoppable that year and clearly looked to be on a mission. Sure the same thing could be said about Lebron but remember, during Timmy's time, he had to beat a Kobe & Shaq after the Laker three peat.

Got much respect for Lebron but the cold hard fact is it took him teaming with two other Franchise players in there primes to win it all. I'm clearly going with duncan on this.

No debate IMO

Timmy was everything that year. He was anchor of the ofense, anchor of the defense and anchor of the anchor!

Tim was a team back then. Dominating so much and still provide lidership and team atmosphere.

To be honest?

Duncan was with a retiring Hall of Famer, a bunch of players who were also on their way out and just wanted a ring, a couple of inexperienced foreign guards, and guys named Stephen Jackson, Bruce Bowen, Speedy Claxton, and Malik Rose.

James had a bunch of role players whose sole remaining skills were shooting open 3s and taking charges, Juwan Howard, but most of all a top 20 all-time player in the tail end of his prime and one of the best versatile big men in his prime.

LeBron was a BEAST this year, props to him, but I'd say Tim was better in '03.

Tim was literally carrying the Spurs back then. All he had was a young Tony, rookie Manu, some shooters, and a bunch of old bigs ready to retire. Defensively although he had Bowen and Jackson on the wings, Duncan was the anchor. LeBron has played great but having other stars on your team is a big plus. Compare Bosh and Wade to Parker and Jackson in '03 (who were probably the best players on those teams after James and Duncan).

What I'm trying to say is that Tim had much more on his shoulders than LeBron did, so I'd say Tim's performance was more impressive.

It's a testament to Lebron's greatness that he's even in this conversation with 2003 Duncan.

He's only in this discussion because of the awards. If he hadn't won season MVP, this discussion wouldn't be happening.

Lebron James had really good stats last night but hands down gotta give it to my man Timmy D...Don't remember exactly which game it was but he was actually robbed out of a Quadruple Double by foul calls on 2 plain as day Blocks...Not taking anything away from Lebron but gotta give that to Tim D

Game 5 21points 20rebounds 10 assist 8blocks!!!!.....If you actually watch the game over you can see as block on K Martin and one on R Jefferson that they actually called fouls on...Which were bad calls even the commentators say it....Miss that Timmy, but still wouldn't trade him for anything

You guys still blaming damn refs for losing 4 games in a row solely? Come on now man. I agree on the first part though.
