I say 2012 Heat are better team.
Mavs only won last year, because Lebron was the frozen one.

2012 Heat wouldn't have been as mentally prepared without losing in 2011..Lebron doesn't develop an elite post game without the 2011 loss..

Can't compare IMO..

The Lakers and Heat have the same Finals trajectory so far.

2007-2008 and 2010-2011 - lost in 6 games
2008-2009 and 2011-2012 - won in 5 games

No player comparisons here, just team trajectories.

The 2011 Mavs had a few things going for them that OKC was desperately missing in the Finals this year. Firstly, they stayed hot. Both were jump shooting teams, but OKC went cold against the Heat this year. Dallas kept up their torrid pace throughout their entire playoff run.

The other big difference is Tyson Chandler. The Thunder did not have an interior presence to cut off penetration like the Mavs did. Last year's Mavs were a much better defensive team than this year's Thunder.

For those reasons, I would take last year's Mavs over this year's Heat. On paper, the Mavs were not all that impressive, but they were on an incredible roll. Momentum is a such a crucial factor in the playoffs.

Last point was full of truth bombs.

Mavs were a jump shooting team but had a defensive stopper in the paint. And let's not forget about defensive badass DeShawn Stevenson. The Matrix also played great defense as well.

Heat. Lebron is the difference. Both teams got timely 3 pointers from their role players. And as great as Dirk was last year ... If Lebron played like this last year the Heat are going for a 3 peat next year ... not a repeat. Battier was huge. He would have no chance of stopping Dirk, but he would of made things tougher than anyone they had the year before.

Heat in 6 games.

2012 LeBron would destroy the 2011 Mavs.

2012 LeBron would destroy the 2011 Mavs.

No way Lebron lets Marion shoot a hook shot in his face and cuss his ass out, like Marion did last year. Lebron would of took him on the block and used his new post game.

And 2012 LeBron would have guarded Dirk Nowitzki.

You're missing the point. If TODAY'S Heat played last year's Mavs, who would you pick?

No doubt 2012 Heat. They are like the more talented version of the 2007 Warriors. Mavs hating playing teams with small ball.

The Mavs would win hands down. The 2011 Mavs were probably the hungriest team in NBA Finals history.

I think they play him like Durant with LeBron and Battier switching off.

Imo had they kept the same team with Dirk playing at last year's level, the Mavs would be repeating right now. The only ? is maybe the west finals vs the spurs.

mavs would've a great chance to repeat had they kept TC tbh, cuban just fucked up his champion squad by letting TC walk and the mavs are tied with mediocrity for years to come, faggots can eat shit now tbh

I just don't get jumping on the Superfriends bandwagon. It's 2012, not 2010.

and we're gonna vote his ass straightly into the HOF right after he announces retirement just like how houston dealt with their 7'6 sacred hero :lol just to avoid him coming back to play ever again
