Ideally, I want Easley to start over Jones at the #2 WR, and for Nigel Bradham to start over Kirk Morrison at the Sam, but I love the defense either way. We are hurting at WR though unless Easley finally stays healthy and shows his potential.

Should we book another :lobt2: for Elite Manning?

DeadlyDynasty
06-24-2012, 05:17 PM
Giants are FUCKING STACKED, especially if Terrell Thomas stays healthy this year. Rueben Randle has a ton of talent, and he gets to come into a system with Elite Manning as his QB and face only 1-on-1 coverage every time they go 3-wide (which is often), b/c of Nicks and Cruz.

The only questionable areas on the G-men are TE and MLB, imo. Blackburn was a gamer when it mattered last season, but I doubt he's the long-term solution at the Mike. TE isn't necessarily a weak spot either--it's just an unknown as of now.

Thomas is going to make the secondary flat out disgusting. Randle is going to have it so easy with Nicks/Cruz out there. It won't be fair at all for opposing D's. :lol

As for TE, Mike Pope is a great coach for this position. Adrien Robinson is going to be a steal. They also love Hopkins.

MLB will be Rivers(Young and low risk move) or Herzlich (He would have been a top 10 pick in the draft if not for him having bone cancer in 2009). Giants have a lot of depth in the linebacker department. Jerry Reese is the best GM in the NFL. I trust him.

Tbh, I am excited to see the Bills D-line this year. That is a flat out nasty group. If Buffalo can stay healthy, I can see them competing with New England for that division.

DeadlyDynasty
06-24-2012, 07:37 PM
Our D-line's gonna be nasty if they stay healthy...we've got good depth there too. The secondary should be fun to watch too--no more watching Leodis McKelvin giving up 2 TDs every game.

That being said, the Pats still win this division hands down. Their roster is improved, their schedule is cake, and they have Tom Brady while we have Fitz.

DUNCANownsKOBE
06-25-2012, 11:25 AM
New England's schedule is such a joke that I'm not much of a homer saying 16-0 or 15-1 is a real possibility. They win all their home games in the regular season every year and their only two road games that present much of a challenge are Buffalo and Baltimore, and I think Baltimore might struggle out of the gate given the key players they've lost.

If on offense Vollmer stays healthy and plays well at RT, Solder is ready to play LT, Mankins is ready for the season opener, Waters decides to come back for another year, Lloyd clicks well with Brady, and Vereen is as good as I think he'll be, then New England will easily have the best record in the AFC.

I'll be very surprised if Edelman doesn't make the team. Belichick loves special teamers. The only position that looks a little shaky is DE... I reminisce about the Warren/Wilfork/Seymour line. At least our LB and secondary are getting younger, if not better. Remember how long NE fan was saying we needed youth in the D? At least Belichick finally listened, if a bit too late.

Patriots have had a pretty good offseason. The only challenge in that division would be Buffalo, but DD doesn't see them keeping pace with NE all season. The Jets are going to implode this year, and the Dolphins will be awful.

The AFC is hard to judge. If Peyton is back to form and stays healthy, Denver will be contenders. NE has always stayed consistent, Texans should be better, Steelers will be in that mix, Ravens could be in trouble, and I won't be sold on the Bengals until they win their first playoff game in 21 years.

I think you're right. Even though the guy I took out (sergio Brown) to put Edelman in is a great special teamer, BB loves Edelman more and the safety position is just too crowded with Gregory and Tavon Wilson.

I agree somewhat that McGee might stay due to him being the only true vet--but he really is a useless, oft-injured pile of shit now. Heard might get bounced for him, but no way does Moats not make our Final 53. His coverage skill have improved and like all of Wanny's LBs he's cross-trained at both the Will and the Sam. Good situational edge-rusher too.

I'm too old to know the 53 man roster anymore. I don't know the year it all changed, maybe when I had my first kid and stopped playing madden. 2005. Firstborn 2006.

So I'll just be happy with RGIII, a shitty zone blocking scheme that i'm not a fan of, and a too old for this shit London Fletcher returning to lead the defense. Hopefully Orakpo and Kerrigan can bring some heat. Our secondary is a mess but we got the Tampa coach who will be tasked with making lemonade outa lemons. So the season all comes down to our Oline, if they can protect worth a shit and get our rb's a 4 yard carry now and again....and of course RGIII's arm...and his ability to stay healthy above all else.

I think it's been so long since this team had talent that people here have simply forgotten what actual talent looks like. So that ignorance manifests itself in a couple of ways:

- Overrating "intangibles." :cryhe has heart:cry or :cryhe gets it:cry. But if the guy can't play it doesn't matter if he "gets it," whatever that means.

- Overrating anyone on the team with a pulse. Phil Taylor had a halfway decent rookie year at DT and all of a sudden he's the second coming of Alan Page.

His stats won't matter as much as how honest he'll keep the other team's defensive backs. I'm not sure why more teams don't do what the Giants do against New England using their safeties to clog the middle of the field. If Lloyd draws safety help over the top then he's done his job.

I think the fact that Gronk was injured helped the Giants greatly. I remember reading an article somewhere which stated that the Giants players determined he was mostly a decoy by third quarter.

Sorry DoK but I'm pretty sure Koppen isn't going anywhere...

It's nice to see our LB corps getting studly and younger. We need to try to find another beast to replace Wilfork though, eventually. I still remember when we drafted him and people were concerned about his motor... glad we netted him anyways heh.

Every report I've read says he's looked atrocious in training camp.

He's a huge culprit for their shitty playoff exits in 2007, 2009 and 2010. When he's matched up against 3-4 nose tackles he gets overpowered and bulldozed.

Trading away Brandon Marshall probably would have made more sense AFTER they found a replacement.. :lol

Anyways, I had far less hopes for the 2008 Dolphins, and they surprised everyone by going 11-5. Who knows, if Gararrd and Ochocinco return to their old form, they may be serious contenders for #2 in the AFC East and a wildcard spot.
