For all you POP haters outthere, [and you know you I'm talking about] its time you get on your knees and kiss the feet of one the best coaches this league has ever known. His moves this game down the stretch were critical and it worked masterfully. :elephant

The Billups-Bowen match up was key. We put our best on ball defender on their best offensive player--from there on out it was difficult for the Pistons to get any kind of offense going.

CHANGING BRUCE OVER TO BILLUPS was the key to the game on the defense end--- i dont care what u guys say

Fucking brilliant. I had a feeling Pop was saving that trump card for the end.

Pop didn't do it in game 6....I think if he put Bruce on Billups too much Larry would've found a way to counter it.

5 coaches in NBA History have 3 or more rings.

Once again, where is "FirePopovich"???

Guess hes gonna be pretty quiet for a while.

Pop is hands-down the best coach in the NBA...and fast approaching one of the best all-time.

but still, after all there is a question remaining to us all:

If Pop wont smile at least for a weak after the Finals...shouldn't he get fired?

I mean...Shouldn't he?

:lol

Props to Pop for shifting the D. He changed the D in a key moment when Bowen guarded Billups for that block shot.

I think the reason Pop waited till the 4th quarter to put Bowen on Billups was the same reason he waited in Game 5. By switchin in the middle of 4th, Bowen has already gotten Rip out of rythm.

agreed, Pop could have had Bruce on Chauncey all game, as some here wanted, but Pop held that card until the stakes were highest and all the bets were placed.

Then Pop played his winning hand.

Billups was already having a great series but Hamiliton in the Piston losses was almost a non-factor, in the Pistons wins, Hamilton was was having nearly 20 pts per game win. But placing Bowen on Billups, as in game 5, was key.
