I am a student at Mizzou from Austin, TX and went to almost every home game for this season for the Tigers. I obviously followed Denmon very closely throughout the entire season. He is a shooter, plain and simple. He has a great work ethic, and can make clutch threes when they are needed. He's a class act, obviously because the Spurs drafted him.. He likes to run off screens for quick threes, like Ray Allen, but can also get to the basket with his decent shot fake. I like him a lot, but that is probably just because I've been a huge fan of his for the past 3 seasons. He also played for Team USA last summer, which helped him hugely this season. I like this pick, and well see how it plays out. :flag:

Wonder if he shoots as well as Gary Neal?

I was at the game in Columbia this year. best basketball game I've been to. he scored 9 straight pts when we were down 8 with a little over 2 to go.

is he capable of being a backup point guard?

Our last guy drafted next to last just shot 33% in an elimination game. Not at all optimistic this time either tbh.

honestly, probably not. unless he get a lot better at handling the ball. he was mainly a 2/3 guard who almost never brought the ball up.

Last 30 seconds

He feels he can play a role like Avery Bradley and pressure the ball.

1. I like that he setting realistic goals. He's not comparing himself to a star.
2. He can recognize the value of defense and believes it's something he can do. Therefore he will try to do it.

he did never bring the ball up in college, so i am glad he claims that he is comfortable doing it. and i think that avery bradley is a spot on comparison. he plays hard defense and his main game on offense is shooting

By the way the season ended, I wouldn't say Gary Neal is a great shooter anymore.. he's clutch, but he started missing a lot towards the end of the season.

Which is why he doesn't turn the ball over. Tough to turn it over when all you do is shoot.

How is his defense? That is my only concern.

I hope he plays well in camp and makes the squad. If he can knock down shots, I think he has a chance

Eh, Neal had some health problems in the playoffs so I wouldn't blame his shooting woes entirely on him. I still believe Neal is the best pure shooter on the team. That being said, he can't play point and can't defend. Neal knows this, so it is make or break time for him once training camp rolls around. Neal can't fall back on being a deadly shooter like he has in the last 2 seasons, he must expand his game or he's out.

How many undersized guards will we have on our team? Denmon, Mills, Neal... They all lack size. I heard Denmon played wing at school, no way he plays it in nba with this size if you ask me... Did we get another scrub like Cory Joseph?

Good Lord another undersized tweener! Sims sitting there for us and we draft a guy who if he makes the team will be 6th on the depth chart.

T2S doing either his best impersonation of the Balcony Brothers from the Muppet show, or the old fart scouts sitting around the table at the beginning of Money Ball.

I love that you hate this pick, because you hated the Kawhi pick last year, too. Hopefully Denmon has small enough hands for your liking. :lol

He doesn't turnover the ball, that means denmon is already better than Hill and Neal as a ball handler.
