The Lakers will still keep trying to make trades, GM Mitch Kupchak said: "We'll try to hit a home run. We always try to hit a home run."

In hindsight, no one in their right mind would have not pull that trigger. Trading Fisher for chump change was well worth it, but who would have thought the fat a$$ had it in him for one final run. As usual, he killed the Spurs.

I'll guranteedamsheed that Fisher will be useless if he plays next season.

One season after Derek Fisher's infamous 0.4 shot, he was on the Warriors, the Lakers missed the playoffs, and Tim Duncan won his 3rd Finals MVP.

The Timberwolves are "pulling out all the stops" to acquire Pau Gasol, sources tell the Associated Press.
Minnesota was attempting to trade Derrick Williams for the No. 2 overall pick in Thursday's draft, and the Timberwolves reportedly would have sent that selection to the Lakers as part of a Gasol package. Minnesota has been interested in Gasol for a while, but we'll have to see if a scenario can gain any traction between the two teams now that the draft has concluded.

He's definitely old and unathletic though.

Still clutch however. Only problem was that he got abused by the Heat's young PGs.

He probably just wants a roster without morons on it. I won't call Kahn racist just because the black players tend to be dumber than the white players. You can only do so much with athleticism and no skill. The day where super athletes with mediocre skill always beating the mediocre athletes with great fundamental skills is pretty much over. Now the teams stacking the deck with athletic guys are perrenial losers.

What's so good about Mitch is he and Dr. Buss always plays it cool...this is why we're a by and large successful franchise...Look at how all these times are tripping over themselves in the Dwight's sweepstakes..Do you see Mitch doing that..Hell No..He's like ok whatever I gave you my final offer take it or leave it..We don't really need that bitch..

No matter what happens with Dwight - whether we land him or not I beleive it will be the right decision for the Laker brass...they know what they're doing...if they really wanted Dwight we could have had him by now..they're really hesitant to pull the trigger...and at this point I hope they let him walk to Brooklyn...I don't trust his back..I'd rather run it with baby Drew...

Shortly after Steve Nash smiled and held up a Lakers jersey at his introductory news conference last week, General Manager Mitch Kupchak was asked if another home run could be hit this summer.

"So you're asking if we can do that twice?" he said. "I'm not quite sure that's possible."

And now inning over; Los Angeles leaves three runners stranded going into the bottom of the third. We'll see if the bullpen can help dig them out of this 7 run hole.
