If true, what do we have to do to get him? Besides having Manu going to him for a personal one on one recruitment.

Blair/Bonner for Scola?

He has 3 years 30 million left on his contract.

The trade would have to look like this for salaries to match. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7ehbf4q

Pipe dream. Houston knows they can get a lot more for Scola than Ginger and Whataburger, and even if they can't, would probably rather have an overpaid, disgruntled Scola, over the Blunder Twins.

There's also the fact that Scola is owed about twice of what Bonner and Blair make combined, which renders the trade invalid for a team that is already over the cap without resigning Duncan....but that's just a minor detail.

This is one of the only scenarios where it would work, money wise.
And it's not a good one.

And this news will still generate dozens of trade scenarios featuring Bonner as the main piece heading to Houston.

Parker is the Spurs best player, why trade him away for Scola and Lowry?
Neither was ever an all-star.

Naw. He'll lose a ton of his value when the league cracks down on flopping next season.

Houston is looking for a decent center to replace Dalembert.

They would laugh at a Scola for Blair/Bonner trade.

Why would the Spurs even want him? Still a very good player, but does nothing that helps to address the lack of size, athleticism and defensive capabilities of the frontline.

Bonner bullied Scola at times last year. Bonner. Bonner doesn't bully anyone.

Maybe Scola was just mad about the almost-trade but I wouldn't take that $30 million gamble.

When Houston amnesties scola we can pick him up on tha cheap. Morey owes us one, they should hand us scola under tha table style

I wouldn't trade for Scola at all. He's got too much money left on his contract. He's just not good enough defensively for that sort of cash. If he was bought out or amnestied though then I'd definitely try and get him.

According to shamsports.com, his last year is unguaranteed unless certain milestones are met. Not sure what those milestones are, but it does make his contract a little better.

Not that I want him. I think the Scola ship set sail a long time ago.

Everyone bullies Scola. This was confirmed when Kevin Love stomped his face and Scola didn't do anything about it.

He'd be the best big to play alongside Tim since the Admiral set sail, by far. They should enquire about him for sure.

He's a pretty poor defender though. That's the main problem. I think he'd be OK offensively, but he's not very good on defense.

I don't care what the front office says or does by moving to an offensive approach, you still gotta be able to play good defense to win it.

Defense in my main priority. RIM protection, at the top of my list. I want the lane closed for 48 minutes and anyone that tries to come into it to be sent away.

Scola doesn't help in that area at all.

Houston and Brooklyn were deep in discussions on trade for Luis Scola on Saturday, but talks fell apart before completion, sources tell Y!

Big summer ahead for the Nets. I read Mayo is in there plans, and it appears that Howard wants to play there now.

Scola needs to play next to a good defensive center. Duncan needs help not more work.

I agree. We know we can score a 100 any given game. We just need to be able to ensure other teams can't and we win it all. What failed us against the Thunder wasn't our offense but our defense.

Superstar-driven business.
Spurs have no superstar, hence won't win anything.
Scola could a be great piece for a truely contending team.

You guys should really try to learn reading comprehension, my only point was against the poster whom I replied who said that his was one of the few trades that worked "money wise", go and re-read. Some of you just confirmed that there are more and all proved to be just stupid
