Still would allow them to sign Howard outright next season when Farmar, Morrow, and Petro come off the books. That kills a Howard trade this summer though (like it was ever going to happen anyways). Not a bad signing considering Howard was a pipe dream after waiving his opt-out.

There was no circumstance where he was going to be successful forcing that trade to Brooklyn this summer anyways. I mean, would you take some combination of Kardashian's ex inked longterm, Brooke Lopez inked long term, or the short contracts of Marshon Brooks, Jordan Farmar, Johan Petro, and Anthony Morrow in Orlando's situation? I wouldn't want a single one of them; their trading pieces are shit.

Hope Nets could find a way to trade for Joe Johnson just for the lulz.

Exactly. At least they gave up on it for now. Dwight's trying to bully his way there and it ain't happening, at least for now.

They could move a likely expiring of Kardashian plus the expirings of Farmar and Petro. Atlanta would do that trade in a second to get out of Johnson's contract, and Brooklyn could probably get Atlanta to throw a first rounder in the deal too. If they lock Lopez up long-term that's the move I would expect next, thereby completely ending the Howard to Brooklyn era. :lol

Howard seems to think the Magic owe it to him to take garbage so he can go where he wants. Ignorant motherfucker. :lmao

I wonder if teams start offering more for Dwight if Brooklyn is off the table for him...

They'll offer less because he isn't in high demand because he is a headache and only a limited number of teams were interested in the first place... and they know Orlando HAS to get rid of him. They could just let him sit, but I'm sure with the legal action Dwight is trying to take, they won't keep him around much longer.

djohn2oo8

Not saying the offers will be complete shit like Brooklyn's, just Orlando is in a position of weakness right now too.

Ordinarily I'd agree, but the pickings are extremely slim this year for free agency, they have absolutely no shot at Howard, and they have to keep Williams. It's a bad option, but it's probably still the best option for them.

I take it back. For only $4.5 million more starting they should just max out Hibbert instead and dump Lopez. Or maybe make a similarly outrageous offer to McGee.

let it never be said that Billy King traded the #6 overall pick for nothing :lol

Actually Wallace staying is pretty good, contract not so much, but after he was traded to the nets they started playing a little better. And deron did say he though a core of him, Lopez, and Wallace could be great.

DH is getting traded this summer and brooklyn is no longer a possible destination where he gets dealt to after this trade. nigga's already broken up with the magic and it'd cause alot suffering to both sides if he plays there for another year, so he's leaving orlando this summer even at a discounted price.

Had a bunch of good draft picks (getting the no 1 in a sucky draft but still decent, getting Jefferson) and to top it off got Jason Kidd.

Of course they ran into Shaq+Kobe in 2002 then into HAM Duncan in 2003.

They were a shit team that woulda never sniffed the finals if not for how shitty the ECF was in 2002 and 2003.

Didn't they face the Pistons in 2003? Of course the Pistons made the jump from really good to amazing when they got Sheed and Larry Brown and starting playing out of their minds.

Edward

Yeah they either swept Detroit or won in 5 games, can't remember except it was a lop sided series.

And yeah, before Larry Brown and Sheed, Detroit wasn't that good.

yeah they did run into Kobe and Shaq in 2002 and Duncan in 2003. That Nets team was the team that got me a lot more into basketball. I had followed it all my life since my dad like both Nets and Knicks, so we would go see the Nets vs Knicks games, but after 2002 and 2003 Nets teams, things changed and I got into it way more, but then again I was getting older as well.

Shouldn't there be a rule in the CBA forbiding a player who's known for his athleticism only getting more than 50% of max dollar money if his age is over 30 by the time the contract ends ????

This kinda stupidity by the owners & FOs that fucked the players last CBA indiscriminately, so fuckin wrong.
