Hornets should let him walk, he's too injury prone to be relied on, he makes Manu look like a damn Ironman.

His max is $62 million over 4 years, not 5, if he signs the offer sheet.

When does his leave of absence end, after Olympics or start of reg season?

He banned himself for 30 days after his wrong prediction in game 4 of the Finals.

As far as Gordon goes, I'm sure the Hornets will wind up overpaying for him before letting him walk. Gordon + Davis + Rivers + decent role players = the direction that the Hornets are going.

Seems silly to match. Not saying he is not a good player but it seems folks are afraid of them losing a major asset from the Paul trade, they got decent lotto picks. Save that money and get a PG, C or SF upgrade.

23 year old 23ppg scorers that D up are hard to come by. There are much worse ways to spend your money. The health factor is the biggest risk, but New Orleans stands to go through some growing pains anyways, and their core will still be improving by the time Gordon's contract ends if he doesn't work out. I can't think of a wiser alternative, other than fielding S&T offers for the guy.

His max from another team is only 4 years 55 million since he hasn't made an All-Star team yet. Hibbert can get 58 million from another team since he made an All-Star team.

They're not gonna let Gordon walk. Either they would match or do a sign and trade and the only way they will do a sign and trade is if Gordon only settles for the one year qualifying offer. They will match 4 years 55 million. They won't offer him the max which would be much more like 5 years 70+ million.

Exactly - the offer from the Suns (if Gordon accepts) is actually very beneficial to NO. Their max and another teams max is way different and if he signs that sheet NO should match because it's now only a 4 year deal vs a 5 year deal and a decent amount less per year and overall guaranteed.
