Give Dirk a chance to go for a ring with old friend Nash and Kobe. Or if the salaries match, take MWP,Sessions, blake anyone and say goodbye.

Dirk doesn't deserve going through another season like this..

Trade Dirk to the Lakers so two of the most beloved Mavs in franchise history can win titles in purple and gold? Fuck that. If you're a true Mavs fan, you want nothing to do with helping the Lakers get better.

Trade him to Boston then? For Bass and whoever they want, that's fine too. I don't see any other team that guarantees him a title.

Dirk already rang, let him just play pickup ball for the Mavs until he retires.

Why is it so important that Dirk leave the Mavs because he doesn't "deserve" this? He got a title. He's been on 50 win teams his entire career. He's never had to suffer through shitty teams like KG did in Minnesota or Nash his last couple years in Phoenix. He's getting paid $20 million for what is right now a 33-win team. That's not a gulag in North Korea.

If he wants to ring chase, he can play out his contract and then sign elsewhere. Cuban won't trade him because even Dirk and total shit around him will sell some tickets. Same reason Sarver wouldn't part with Nash until his contract was up. If the bottom falls out and they are a 15-20 win team without Dirk, that won't sell tickets. Cuban won't commence a rebuilding process until after Dirk's contract is up. They'll put together whatever they can this year, roll the dice with next year's FA crop, and then if that doesn't work, they'll either trade Dirk or let him walk after 13-14.

Didn’t the Atlanta baseball team do something just like that for their long time star Murphy? Your post is not out of the realm of possibilities…

The Mavs have consistently had some of the highest payrolls in the league since Cubsn has been there, Dirk hasnt had to suffer at all tbh. Him being a choking, no defense playing vagina for so many years is the reason why it took them so long to finally win one, not because he was in bad situations in Dallas.

You sure spout off a lot for a fan (if you really are one) of a team that has won exactly NOTHING ever. Maybe if your team wasn't the 4th most accomplished team in your own 4 team building you wouldn't sound so moronic though that is highly doubtful. The LA Sparks have more cred in Staples. The Clippers are one of if not the poster child for worst franchises ever. And that isn't just basketball. It’s in the history of ALL SPORTS. But hey, keep on yapping as your brilliant posts have about as much substance as your teams trophy case. It is so you! :lol

Lolz. The high payroll was mainly a result of Cubes' habit to grossly overpay players like Damp, Diop etc... The first time Dirk got a decent C he won. But it ain't no secret that you're still mad about 2011. Dissing Dirk has always been one of your major aims in life.

Like findog said, he has been on championship caliber teams basically his entire career and he has millions and millions of dollars...heaven forbid he has to lose 45 games one season.

You don't get it..Dirk could be paid 100 million per year, and still Dallas would owe him.He is the one who made us relevant, and ultimately led us to a championship..I don't wanna see him struggle to get to 30 wins because Cuban is a fucking idiot who is constantly trying to outsmart the other 29 GM's.

Comprehension is obviously not your strong suit if you thought my post had anything to do with bandwagoning. But seeing as how you invoked the obligatory grade school "faggot" reference I am not surprised that you couldn't grasp the simple concept of someone sounding really foolish talking trash about a storied franchise using a superior than thou tone when they are the fan of the worst franchise in the history of sports. Too funny!

Dallas had championship caliber depth for most of Dirks prime. Sure Cubes overpayed for it sometimes but its alot better than other situations where owners are cheap. Dirk not winning for so long wasnt at all similar to KGs situation in Minny, it had more to do with Dirks own shortcomings. He blatantly choked/deferred to Terry several times over the years.

He signed a four-year contract. He can do what he wants when the contract is up: resign with the Mavs, retire or go somewhere else. Until then, the front office shapes the roster and he suits up. That's that. He's not getting screwed by any means.

Seriously. Dirk is worth way more than the crap L.A. has to send his way. If the Mavs were going to trade Dirk, they would want more than an aging center that has low self confidence and a mix of talent-less scrubs. Oh, and throw in the mentally ill player too.

If I were trading Dirk, I would want a combination of draft picks and young talent.

My guess is the Mavs do the same thing as last year: get a bunch of stop-gap vets on one-year deals and try to score big in next summer's FA class. Of course they'll strike out again, and then they have to either convince Dirk to resign at age 36 for one more contract, or trade him for some combination of young players, picks, expiring contracts and cash if they think he's either going elsewhere or retiring.

My guess is that if Dirk has one more subpar team, he retires after this year. He seems more complex than the average player in the NBA, and more content to do things other than basketball.

Yeah. I can also totally see him going back to Germany and playing for a team over there.
