On the Celtics front, agent David Falk continues to say he thinks a deal gets done with Boston for free agent forward Jeff Green. One source with knowledge of the talks says it may be in the four years, $40 million neighborhood, but it is not done.
"I’m confident it’ll get done," Falk told SI.com (http://si.com/). "I guess they got (Brandon) Bass' (contract) done, which is great. Jeff is trying to get a sense of what the team looks like first before he makes a commitment, but I expect he’ll be there and I expect it’ll be done by the 11th (when the free agency moratorium ends). We’ve gotten a lot of interest from other teams. But as far as Boston, we’re very confident we’ll get it done.
"He wants to be in Boston. He’s excited about the moves they’ve made. He’s hoping Ray Allen comes back as well, because he feels very close to Ray Allen." Allen is visiting Miami today and appears to be down to Boston and the Heat for his considerations.

That sounds horrible. I'd rather have Bass at that price. If we sign Green for that much he better start becoming our Pierce replacement and quick.

Green wasn't worth anything, even when healthy, tbh..

A stretch 4 that can't shoot consistently, yet doesn't have the tools to play the 3..

Pretty much. I'm not sure what Ainge sees in him.

Way to torpedo an otherwise spectacular offseason, Boston:tu

I'm still not gonna believe this number until its official. Green had no bargaining chips whatsoever, the C's docs did him a favor by finding the condition AND he wants to remain a Celtic. That doesn't add up to 4 years, 40 million to me. Especially when his last one year contract only netted him 9 million... Don't see why he should make on average more than that number.

Still waiting to see Bass' numbers too...

Rumors say we got Bass at 3 years for 20 mil... Hope that's right.

The Celtics and Jeff Green have agreed to the framework of a deal, his agent, David Falk, told @CBSSports.

No word on the exact numbers yet, but :lol if they actually gave him 4:lol milli:loln

Ridiculous. They didn't want to pay Perk, who actually has NBA skills, and then they trade for this clown, and Jefferson him?

gent David Falk, who said Friday an agreement with the Celtics on Jeff Green’s contract should come early this week, clearly is pleased with how talks have progressed. Green agreed to a one-year, $9 million contract with the team last December, but the discovery of an aortic aneurism during a physical voided the contract.

Falk returned to the same starting point this month and got his wish.

The new deal, again starting at $9 million, will be worth $36 million over four years, according to a source. . . .

Well....we saved 4 million. I'd be much happier if the contract was for less though. Jeff Green has a lot to prove with this contract, and right now, I don't think he can. Everytime I've seen him on the floor I've been underwhelmed. Hopefully that changes.

I still think its a bad contract. He's not gonna be a starter. If he was, at the most he should get 32 million at 4 years. As a backup which he will be? This is way too much.

This is why I never feel bad for teams that pays a huge amount of luxury tax. The CBA negotiation was pretty much pointless. You have GM's overpaying role players all over the place.
