interesting stuff. laker sshould trade pau and someone for kevin love. pau is a great fit for the wolves with his spanish buddy over there. bring love to LA

Like that shit would ever happen..Love is already inked for a couple more years in Minny right?
Can they even afford him is the question? I dont think Wolves would do a straight up trade for Pau. He's gotta come packaged.

Pau + Jordan hill probably if it happened. Rebounder and offensive player, two bigs to a team that desperately needs size.
Not gonna happen, tho

Mehh ... he was dumb to sign that extension. He probably looked around at his Olympic team-mates and realized he has the shittiest team (after the Nets moves). He didnt take the max number of years so he wasnt TOO dumb ... but there are only a few small market teams I would consider signing with long-term (Pacers/Spurs) and Minny is NOT one of them ...

That's what happens when you're on a shitty team and you're the main guy. Other teams will let him have his points and rebounds.
I'm not saying he wouldn't put up good numbers when been guarded and defended instensively and exclusively but you will see less production from him.

He's another Steve Nash, gets useless stats and look mighty as fuck but never gets anywhere. At least Nash won some MVP awards and saw the playoffs a few times. KL should shut up and enjoy his fame in relative obscurity (if that's possible).

Love is right. He's on a shitty team. He's an elite player and outside of Rubio and Pekovic, they don't have much. Derrick Williams is talented, but he's a better PF than SF. They desperately need wing players. The wing players they have or had including Beasley are garbage.

sons does anyone else find it funny how many of these "star" and supposed "elite" players bitch and moan about wanting to play on a better team? whatever happened to going out and busting your ass to prove that you're the best? everyone wants to take the easy road now. very few legit players left in the NBA. everyone wants to jump on a stacked team instead of working for team success. if a player like Love is as "Great" as he thinks, then he should be able to AT LEAST carry the T-Wolves to the playoffs.

Soccer moms, that's the reason. They have their kids play for fun, no scores, and everyone is friends with the other team. No losers, let's all go for ice cream. The NBAers are getting their ice cream in lump sums.

So? He could have made more money then and showed he wanted out. Letting teams off the hook while they bring on shitty players isn't conducive to building power house franchises, but then they had KG and didn't do shit with him, Spree, and ET.

They went to a conference Finals with that group.
But Love had little leverage. He actually wanted the 5 year max, but they only offered him the 4 year max which was dumb too. He couldn't have made more money anywhere else.

Yup. If a player really wants to leave the team that drafted him, he can play out his contract, sign the qualifying offer (which yes, would mean NOT having the security of a multi-year deal for one year), then be an unrestricted free agent. However nearly all of them prefer financial security over being able to pick their team.

That statement really seems to be a classic "taken out of context" thing. He is with team USA. All or near all the other players have more success and better teams than him and someone asks if he feels that. What is he supposed to say?
1) "We are not THAT bad! We just don't make the playoffs"
2) "Next year we will beat OKCs asses in the WCF!"
3) "Hell yeah, we suck but I don't care at all!"
4) "I'm basically a max player but please give me some superstars surrounding me so we start winning now!"
???
It was dumb to say what he did (or how he did it), but after watching another great PF in Minny wasting year after year after year, he should put some pressure on them!

That's the point. As much as these players complain about the team that drafted them, they never sign the QO to expedite their chances of leaving earlier. They can't have it both ways. They're more than welcome to leave their original team early but it requires an aditional season of playing without financial security. 99 out of 100 times, they chose financial security.

I bet alot of these guys who would sign the QO would end up getting traded somewhere. For example, if Gordon really wanted to leave NOLA, he would just sign the QO. No way the Hornets would keep him around. But if he signs the max tonight with Phoenix, its just gonna show that he cares about the money more than anything else because he knows the team will most likely match.

Are you deliberately acting retarded and obtuse?
The player signs a qualifying offer which makes him an unrestricted free agent a year later. The team that trades for him can't get to sign him to an involuntary extension, he'd have the same option he had before the trade. Doesn't that make any sense to you, or is your brain that dumb that you can't even get that?

I never said the team could involuntary sign him. But they would have an option to sign him to a long-term deal if the player wanted to. That's why Gordon could actually gain more leverage if he signed a QO and force a trade to a team he wants to sign with.

So you're agreeing with DPG and I that players who don't sign the QO shouldn't bitch then, right?
What exactly was the point of bringing up the fact a player can sign an extension with a team that traded for him, I'm not exactly sure why that was relevant to the topic at hand other than in an attempt to go on a random tangent away from the topic.

and he'll get traded sometime later in december even if they match. both sides have lost interest in each other according to BR's reports and the team will only match phoenix's offer because they don't want to lose him for nothing. gordon has been acting like a bitch in NO since the first day he got traded there and he's already managed to piss them off
Kevin Love's case is sheer different imho, nigga doesn't have no such personality like eric gordon and even though he's enunciated his disappointment with the team, he still plays hard like an ass on the court instead of malingering with fake injuries and that's why the team still thinks he's someone worth holding on to
