He has taken and continues to take less than he is worth.

He is giving them a discount..:lol

in 2011 he avg'd 13/9 in a full season
in 2012 the asterisk season he avg'd 15/9 - he managed 1 more basket/pg :lol so it's a wash from regular to shortened season.

based on his declining production I expect his numbers to continue to rapidly drop:

2013 he'll be 11/8 making 11.3 million
2014 he'll be 9/7 making 11.3 million
2015 he'll be 7/5 making 11.3 million

the Spurs are basically fucked...they resigned Diaw of all people :lol
Toothless Jack is on the roster along with Patty Cake and Vomit Rapist :lol

Splitter and Blair are straight trash and Manu's bald spot is growing bigger...:lol

These guys are a a laughing stock..Pop is so impatient..He wanted to win it all this past year and signed all these rejected players to make a play-off run this past season leaving himself with no flexibility this off-season...

Huge difference between be Laker and Spur Brass...our guys are actually smart...Spurs are still to squeeze one last ounce of juice out of the shitbag they tanked for back in 1998 :lol

@the Spurs for not knowing how to rebuild after the tank job

Duncan averaged 13/9 in 2011, then 15/9 in 2012, so the logical thing is to expect his production to rapidly drop.

Simply logical.

Repulses opportunity too, though.

So based on your logic, since he didn't decline this past season from the one before, he's absolutely going to steadily decline over the next three.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Oh wait, it doesn't.

Also, if you think it's a "joke" they re-signed Diaw, then you clearly didn't watch many Spurs games and should probably not be speaking about them anymore if you care about people here laughing in your face for being a complete imbecile. Diaw was excellent on the Spurs last season. Most Spurs fans (if not all) considered him to be a priority re-sign along with Duncan.

As for "Toofless Jack", he has only one year left on his deal and is an easily tradeable asset.

Comments about Splitter/Blair/Manu were clearly garbage.

As for offseason flexibility, what point is there in the Spurs having any? Free agents don't go to San Antonio. Nobody who is a Spurs fan expects to get Dwight Howard or some shit. Spurs don't get prime free agents. Those guys all either go to the biggest 5 markets, or they will go to garbage markets for max deals they don't deserve.

As for the difference between the Spurs and Lakers, is that a joke? Intelligence? lmao. You dumb fuck, the only positive difference in LA's favor is that they're based in LA where people want to go for exposure and movies, and have more cash to throw around because of it. That's it. Lakers have clearly drafted like utter dogshit 90% of the time, and 100% of their "good front office moves" revolve solely around them paying out a ton of money or getting interest from someone who wanted to make movies.

Your points are flimsy and weak. Completely devoid of competence.

Team = Franchise = Business

Kobe, for whatever reason, is the most famous active player in the world. He might throw a wrench in the cog wheels for improving the team but his contributions to the financial success of LAL is invaluable and means Lakers can continue to buy a better roster instead of build one.

Whatever cons he brings are insignificant from a business standpoint.

Kobe' salary kills our cap but keeps lining Buss's pockets. Lebron has long surpassed Bryant on the court (at least the last 3 seasons) But Kobe makes more money for the Lakers (and the NBA) than Lebron PROBABLY will. Maybe because his arrogance doesnt factor as much overseas ...but internationally Kobe is beloved. Phillipines and China especially. Europe maye not as much so because Kobe is so shot happy but the chinks (affectionately) and the flips (ditto) easily outnumber the Europeans. Heck China alone does ... that being said no one probably deserves $30 million in the NBA right now, not even Lebron (but he has the best case right now) But it's like back-owed child support. Magic, MJ Kobe all were bargains in their primes and overpaid a bit on the back-end.

doesn't make much difference to the squad imho. located in a small market they know they ain't luring any bignamed FA to join there, it's not like they're entrenching on team's payroll with the hope of landing a big name in 13' offseason, spurs FO ain't that stupid to even hold such a hope knowing how difficult it is to lure FA's to join you under the new CBA

Being old and supposedly in mass decline, the shortened season would've diminished his numbers, not increased them, since he had to play more back to back games, not less.

More logic fail.

Big Spurs and Duncan fan, but i think this contract is a bit much for him, not that his production has decreased that much he is still effective, but his minutes have decreased heaps.

12 million a year for a guy who played just 28 mpg last season and will probably play less then that next season? Pretty expensive for a guy playing limited minutes.
