Move green to the 3
not a big difference between 2/3 in spurs system and hes long enough to guard them

lineup of

Parker/Denmon
Neal/Ginobili
Green/Jackson
Diaw/Leonard
Duncan/Splitter

give Leonard can move around from 3/4 and green between 2/3 to rest ginobili/jackson more during the reg season
amensty bonner

Leonard would still be playing 30+ minutes even though he comes of the bench
neal wont be playing with a lineup of complete defensive liabilities so hell be easier to hide
2/3 in spurs system = stand in corner shoot 3
leonard is a better rebounder then most PFs
easily a better rebounder then bonner/blair and he has the length to defend most 4s
leonard playing the 3 leaves him out on the perimeter so he cant grab rebounds as easy

spurs already use a lineup of tony/manu/jackson/leonard/duncan to close games
should just go full smallball
heat won playing bosh at the 5 and james at the 4
okcs best lineup is durant at the 4 with ibaka at the 5

Pulling Kawhi and inserting Neal into the lineup. RIP defense

Kawhi is 6 foot 6 barefoot.

One of SAs top 5 man units was
Parker/Neal/Leonard/Bonner/Duncan

had a 1.19 Off
.80 Def
22 +/
and an 88% win ratio
All they need to do is switch green with leonard and replace bonner with diaw
green and leonards d is the same and diaw is a massive upgrade over bonner

by putting leonard at the 4 the team can get use to playing without bonner
and leonard gets more shots in the paint where hes automatic and hell be getting 9+ rebounds

even more interesting
per 48 leonard has a per of 26 at PF
hes opponent has a per of 12.9 the lowest of all 3 postions hes played

Against OKC and the Heat he will effectively play the 4 because of how often Durant/Lebron play there in small ball lineups

To play there reguarly, no way

Kawhi is 6 foot 6 barefoot.

Thank god the rules allow for shoes.

Neal is vastly underrated by most Spurs fans on this board. That said, Neal should not be starting.

He's an "instant offense" bench player like the old Microwave himself, Vinny Johnson.

im not saying leonard is playing the 4 permantly
just needs to steal gingers minutes
coming off the bench after 5-6 minutes and making subs should get it done
and hes good enough rebounder and scorer in the paint that he should be playing near the basket
not this stand in the corner shoot 3 bullshit pop does to kill players
leonards isnt a lockdown defender like people actually believe on this board
hes about above average
and hes one of the worst on the team at getting around screens
his biggest strength defensively is guarding post ups
and during the clippers series he showed he could hedge and recover in time to contest a shot still
and he was guarding blake griffin pretty well

I thought Green played some of his best ball at the 3 in the Clippers series.

I thought Green played some of his best ball at the 3 in the Clippers series.

It's not as if the Spurs employ real distinction between the 2 and 3 unless Manu's in the game - and even then he transitions from wing to ball-handler at times.

How about just start Leonard and Green at the same time. Along with Diaw. Their versatility should be very useful. It's a crazy idea.
