If they bid $2 million a year and get him for it, it's only an extra $1.55 million off their capspace (remember there is a ~ $450k cap hold for each roster spot under 12, and Scola would eat one of those). That's a pretty outstanding bargain tbh. Scola hasn't lived up to his contract, but for that kind of money he'd be a steal.

Scola would be more to have a decent bench player for a dirt cheap price the year after when Brand is gone. Besides, have Brand backup the 5 and Scola the 4. Then give Nowitzki TOSB-level minutes in the regular season.
