sons any lockout shortened season "championship" deserves an asterisk and is not as prestigious as a full season championship would be. however at least with this past season only about 20% of the games were missed compared to back in 1999 whenever more than 40% of the games were missed. both deserve the asterisk and are nothing to brag home about, but 1999 was by far the biggest joke of a "championship" than anything in American, professional sports history.

Sorry, crybabies, but the only championships that deserve asterisks are ones that the team cheated to win or the refs rigged, tbh.... when everybody plays the same schedule, whoever wins it all still earned it fair and square...

The regular season doesn't mean shit to anyone but cocksuckers like you who have nothing else. The shorten season only means you play scrub teams like New Orleans less, otherwise there was no shortcut for when it matters, the playoffs.

tbh you could argue every championship could be accorded an asterisk

1999 - first post-Jordan Finals
2000 - Duncan was hurt
2001 - no argument here
2002 - Game 6 of the WCF
2003 - Dirk was hurt in the WCF
2004 - Malone was injured in the Finals
2005 - no argument here
2006 - Manu made a stupid foul, Wade got to the line almost every other possession
2007 - Mavs choked against the Ws, Horry hip-checked Nash
2008/2009/2010/2011 - Manu was injured
2009 - LeBron's supporting cast melted
2010 - LeBron couldn't wait to go to South Beach
2011 - Mavs got an easy road to the Finals after Manu broke his arm, plus LeBron choked
2012 - Game 6 of the WCF... gee.

These things are dust in the wind. Every season/post season is marred by injuries and even the seeding would be severely altered in many cases were it not for key injuries during the regular season.

I look at championships as set in stone, you won or you did not. We can debate why you won, but your win is as good as any other.

Odd thing about that; I don't know of any team that feels better about themselves because people before them who wore the same jersey did much better than them. If anything, it puts pressure on them to succeed, and on the management to not feel content in perpetual rebuilding mode.

DMC is right except, of course, if the team or the refs cheated.... for example, the Steelers' win in Super Bowl XL isn't legitimate in my eyes because they needed the biggest ref screwjob of the other team in NFL history to win it...

Perhaps, but if your team cannot pull an upper hand over the other, refs be damned, then you don't deserve it. In any loss you can find the reasons without looking to officiating, if you don't look to officiating first.

It's kind of hard to win if the refs have a bullshit call to negate any positive thing for your team tbh...

Stat fag uses stats, not excuses. He can show, using the stats, that the Lakers have won every year that a game has been played, back into the 1400's tbh, regardless of the fact that Naismith wouldn't be born for a few hundred more years.

So, in total, according to the stat fag's stats, the Lakers are like

600

everyone else

0*

The asterisk means we were lucky to get that.

Well as it turns out the Celtics only really has 4 championships and the clippers 13.

Check out this article http://assets.espn.go.com/nba/columns/hughes/1164180.html

"In any case, at the time John Y. Brown owned the Braves, Irv Levin owned the Celtics. But Levin was from Los Angeles, and what he really wanted to do was return to the West Coast and own a team there.

He couldn't very well take the storied Boston Celtics, who to that point had won 13 NBA championships. So Levin decided to switch franchises with John Y. Brown, who in 1978 had become sole owner of the Braves.

John Y. Brown, of course, was sly enough to know a good deal when he saw one, and he knew the Celtics were a better draw than the expansion Braves, so he jumped at the chance. As it turned out, John Y. Brown was only two years away from drafting Larry Bird.

Levin took the Braves and moved them out to San Diego, where he called them the Clippers."
