We'd be subjected to tons of bullshit trashtalking from Rasheed, Ben and Co. I can't imagine how it'd be. also, the shit talking that we'd have in here from their fans...
I am so glad I don't have to hear them!
Like the chant around town last night went, "FUCK DETROIT!"

I bet you'd be pleasantly suprised. If we came on to congratulate you on a job well done when BEATING us, why would you expect us to come on and rub it in your faces when we were in a GOOD mood and actually WON the game?
Trolls don't count. Both teams have them, which has been proven throughout the series.

You won, so I guess you have the right to choose between being respectful and being a dick. Have at it.

But I thought the Pistons <b>DID</B> win.
<Quote>We'll remember them as one of the weaker championship teams in recent memory, a team that could be pushed around at times, a team whose quality players disappeared for entire games. They needed a miraculous effort from Big Shot Brob in Game 5 just to avoid an ignominious 3-4-5 sweep in Detroit. They couldn't close out the resilient Pistons in Game 6, which any of the better NBA champions in history would have done. Yet none of that stuff will matter 50 years from now. As Joe Theismann would say, championship teams win championships. The Spurs did just enough to win, and their superstar protected his house when it counted. Just like old times.
Lost in the shuffle were the defending champs, who defended their title with the requisite amount of honor and integrity. They carried championship belts like boxers, shouted "on and on and on" before games, always thrived with their backs to the wall. Some kept comparing them to the Patriots, and their impeccable record in must-win games and closeouts put them in the general ballpark. But the Pats won 34 of their last 38 games and haven't lost at home since December 2002. The Pistons never dominated over a prolonged stretch like that; if anything, they reminded me more of Winky Wright, the middleweight champ whose astonishing defensive skills suck the life out of his opponents. When you watch Winky, you find yourself thinking things like, "Will anyone ever land a punch on him?" And, "If everyone fought like this, boxing would go out of business in five years." </QUOTE>

As I said yesterday afternoon here, I wanted "not to lose" MUCH more that I wanted to win, simply because losing would have unleased the preening, self-congratulating, "urban", "balla" garbage from the Pistons, and worse, from their 100's trolls in this forum.
But the worst about losing would have been the horrible, interminable, unfair shit that would have inundated Tim for being "soft", "can't win with David", etc, etc, ad nauseam, would have inundatd the Spurs org for being whatever it is the media doesn't like about the Spurs.
ie, NOT having all those negatives was much more important, to me, that having the positives of winning.
Winning!!! "Not that their is anything wrong with that!"

Personally I think that the Players are always more respectful than the fans..
It might count here, most Spurs fans are being Dicks.... but it would surely be the same if detroit would've won... I don't count trolls...
A Fan is by far worse than a player rubbing it in n shit..
I bet that if Detroit would've won, they would've posted "I TOLD YOU", "DETROIT IN 7"
"CHAUNCY MVP" Threads on these forums..
And even though you might not admit it... you would've...
but whatever..
The Spurs won so we can rub it in anyone's faces...
Of course in the Spur fan Way..

I agree that the players SHOULD be more respectful than the fans. They're being paid for this, and they're expected to be professionals (which is why I blame Ron Artest instead of the fan.. even though both were wrong).
Of course there would be trash talking fans if Detroit won, that'd be stupid to try and deny. But, and I'm sorry if you don't believe me, there would be the same Piston fans on as we are today. The only difference is, the Piston trolls would be rampant, and giving us a bad name. The 'true' Piston fans that are giving you the props yesterday and today are the same ones that were having intelligent conversations for the past 2 weeks. That should come as no suprise to anyone.

Call me crazy, but I actually like Sheed now, you have to admire his progression from his dark out of control portland days. Yeah, he's rough around the edges still, but I like his game. His jumpers over Timmy were pretty freaking sweet, to play devils advocate...had a nice three...I don't think he's the trash talker still everyone makes him out to be.

Come on now.... out of all those we met in the playoffs, the Piston fans were the classiest. It's not easy to lose and post congratulations. Us true fans are like the players. We let the playing do the talking. Congrats to the Piston fans for showing up and heaping praise on the Spurs. Those of you who are true fans don't have to resort to name calling. I respect you!!!!!!! It's a shame someone had to lose!!!!! See you next year. You'll be back.
