He's very unlikely to play next year and may be done for good.

He's due to have heart surgery in the near future.

Wow, that sucks. He's been awesome for the last couple seasons. Is there an article on this?

If it's over, he had a much better career than anyone though possible.

Hoiberg to undergo heart surgery
Last Update: 6/24/2005 9:33:33 AM

Timberwolves guard Fred Hoiberg’s 2005-2006 season could be in jeopardy due to a heart defect.

Hoiberg is set to undergo aortic vessel surgery next week in Rochester, and it is unknown how long his recovery may be, according to the Pioneer Press’ Charley Walters.

The possibility of Hoiberg missing an extended period of time may slightly alter the plans for next Tuesday’s NBA draft for the Timberwolves.

Hoiberg, 32, has been with the Wolves for the past two seasons after playing for both the Indiana Pacers and the Chicago Bulls.

Kinda ironic, the last and only other decent all around sg we ever had gets KO'd by a drunk driver and then this.
