I noticed the lex corp on the trucks during the fight. That was cool. Not sure I know what your referring too, bit I also haven't seen it 3 times :lol.

I will say this though, I havent seen one trailer, read one story, and done everything in my power to have a completely blank sheet going into the movie. It was so refreshing to so this movie not knowing anything about anything. I didn't even know who the villain was. I only knew crowe was jor-el by accident. I'm proud of myself to accomplish this for a year in this day and age.

Wow, awesome job. I was the complete opposite and I wish I could have held out like you. I let a few stupid reviews get to me the last few days, until I finally watched it all.

Yea those were some good ones there, and there was a Wayne Enterprises logo on the satellite in space during the Supes/Zod fight too. But that still isn' the one I'm referring to. Damn it gave me chills :lol I can't believe people couldn't see it, it was right in plain view. My sis was like "what, I didn't notice"

Better than Sucker Punch? Surely you must be joking.

You have a point, I was never a Zack Snyder fan really, but this being his best (as it was very good) is a good sign moving forward for the sequel.

where was the one your referring to during the movie? Early, mid, late? Was it a person or object? I'm going through my mental rolodex.

Act 3, it's the climactic sequence when Cavill looks up and light shines on his face right before he takes off to destroy/enter the ship, you could almost see the face of Christopher Reeve, his face very very very lightly morphed into it and back. I caught it with ease, but some didn't notice :lol

i like the fact that he's kinda uncomfortable as superman right nowm kind like hes still trying to figure it out too. thats why there are no great speeches yet. also when hes talking to the colonel at the end after destroying the drone, hes kinda like, "hey dont spy on me, im still trying to figure out how all this is gonna work between us." I loved the "im from kansas" line in that scene.

I agree, which is why I shouldn't have spoken too soon on my initial review. I like the way they did this, he is still learning who he is, and that means he still has room to grow on his strength and in story too, wow. I loved how he acted like a kid when first flying. It's how we all might act if it were our first time. That Kansas line at the end was good :lol

The ending couldn't have been better imo. Love how they ended it, shows you what to look forward to. Damn I wanna see it again already.

It was great...almost exactly what I expected. As one reviewer said, it's Superman for the this new generation of hero movies. Some didn't like the way they did the flashbacks in the beginning and that's fine. Didn't really bother me. All the acting was solid and Shannon as Zod wasn't spectacular but he was more than acceptable. Cavill however, was outstanding...a perfect fit for the role.

Jesus I didn't even hate on the film and the resident fanboygets all upset. It wasn't terrible but it definitely has huge flaws. Snyder could have given you a steaming pile of crap and you would have liked it so I'm not sure why you're trying to slam my credibility on the subject. Its just my opinion of a movie. No one ever said you had to agree with it.

No way this is true. At least half the trailers I see scream "why waste money on this?".

And yet half the movies you think that of, turns out good.

Cant even count the times where I misjudged a movie based on the trailer.

While the 100% assesment was obviously wrong, the ratio for good trailers for a bad movie far outweights the the oposite.

After all, trailers are meant to sucker you into thinking a movie is good rather than bad.

>Amy Adams was a horrible cast as I thought. Plus, her voice was incredibly, annoyingly soft
>Everyone else was good and my boy Crowe killed it.
>EVERY single female in the movie was fine as hell, the villain chick being the sexiest
>music was awesome
>the shaky camera shit was stupid as hell as well as the "zoom in; zoom in" bullshit

Now, how the hell could they possibly make a Justice League movie? Seeing this pretty much puts it into perspective. The Dark Knight trilogy is still better than any other comic book movies but that realistic Batman wouldn't be able to do anything with Superman. This isn't a cartoon.

Pretty much a given.

I knew it the second she was announced as Louis.

She is so bland and uninteresting. She always has an "Is this scene going to end soon? I got better shits to do" face all the time.

Will most than likely go see it tomorrow with my pals.

I just got back from watching it an hour ago. I think they did a good job on it. They did a few smart things they didn't do in previous versions, making it realistic in the manner that nobody was made foolish over his identity.

9/10.

As disappointed as I was, I'll probably see it again and I'm in for all of the sequels. Really I thought there were a lot of interesting concepts put forth in this one, I just thought it was executed poorly. Too much score, never a break. I read a review that said it felt like 2 hours of trailers for a Superman movie, and not an actual movie. I couldn't agree more. The pacing just didn't work at all for me.

(SPOILER) Initially, I didn't like the way Jonathan Kent died in this one, but I understand why they had it happen that way. When the movie wasn't about shit getting blowed up real good, the theme was the struggle for Kal-el between revealing himself to help others vs. hiding himself as Kent always wanted. He had a choice of whether or not to save him, the exact opposite of the first movie where natural causes prevented him from saving his father.

Still, the tornado scene was lame as shit. His expression was a little too calm and collected for someone about to be thrown around to death and he didn't even budge till you couldn't see him anymore, I didn't know that's how tornados worked. Also, there was more than enough time for Clark to save him before having to use his superpowers. Shit, I mean just run out there really fast (not superman fast) and carry him away! I seriously doubt those people who were more concerned with the huge tornado about to go right over them would notice the heroics

its a movie. Every mo ie has these moments that dont make sense in the real world. Oh my god if she just would've looked behind her. How many times have you though that in a movie. And the movies would end in 30 minutes.

as far as why...my reason is:

it wasn't about whether he could save him or not. It was about the big picture and it not being the right time and learning to live normal. Remember the conversation when he was a kid when Clark asked was I supposed to let them die? And Kent said yes, no, maybe.

It was great. It had its flaws but this movie has successfully redeemed Superman from Superman Returns. I would've sacrificed like 5-10 minutes of action for more story/character development to fix the pacing but it was awesome overall.

I agree about Returns. I hated it. Still do. Superman was weak. Lex Luthor was pathetically done. Lois Lane was not interesting. Could never watch it more than a couple of times. It was an outdated version of Superman and not interesting at all. That was a poor summer of comic films. X3 was not great either. Just ok which was a let down after how awesome X2 was.

Not enough character development. They should have taken the approach that was made with the Batman trilogy. Batman Begins reintroduced Batman to the new generation. It showed how he became the man he was.

Superman was already saving dudes in the first damn scene of him on Earth.

Wouldn't work as well with Clark Kent. He's a pretty boring dude. Hard to compare his origin with Bruce Wayne. Wayne went thru alot more to become Batman. Tragedy, hard core training. Kent was already Superman since he was born. I'm kinda glad we didn't see the same rehashed story. I do think we will see way more Clark Kent in the sequel. The villain will probably see someone originated from Earth besides Luthor, but not Metallo. I'm thinking Parasite with Luthor behind the scenes will be the next sequel.

Alright, finally went and saw this movie this afternoon and here are my thoughts on it.

~~~There may be spoilers here preceed with that in mind~~~
The movie was entertaining and definitely had its moment of glory but I felt that it was totally devoid of the thing it was mostly seeking which was emotion.
It tried too hard. Outside of Cavill everyone looked bored. Pretty weak acting for supposed vets.
Also, I dont understand when people were saying the movie felt rushed. It wasnt.
The movie just had odd, ramdomly placed scenes. The flashbacks inly made this worse, it disrupted the flow of the story in the present time.
This film missed the mark on quite a few spots, mainly these ones..
-Several characters miscast
-The lack of certain Superman artifacts, namely Kryptonite
-Abandonment of the Superman mythos
Story wise this movie fails. Little made sense. Why was Louis asked to come aboard the ship along with Superman? It didn't make a lick of sense for her to be in there. Really Jor-el, you're going to teach her so she can teach the Man of Steel in return? That was laughable.
She played too large a role. It far exceeded her actual use.
They also misused the character Zod. Superman actually spent more time fighting that machine thing than he did Zod. That last showdown was so weak and pathetic. Ugh
Overall this movie is a 7.5 all for the action. I was fairly happy with that.
Superman Returns kicks this movie's ass if we're just talking about the actual story. I get why people think that one is bad. Yeah it lacks action but its rich in story and what's more its accurate to Superman mythology. Give me that over gimmicky over the top CGI action any day.
The critics were right. This movie caters to the ones who dont give two shits about the Superman as we know him and just want some silly action flick.
My two cents.
So you actually think Man of Steel storyline beats that of Returns? Forget all about the action.
They could have named the movie something else and you wouldn't recognize it was an actual Superman movie.
Aside from the costume, some well known characters, can you tell me something this movie did that had us like, ohhh yes I remember this or oh yeah I know what that is and so on.
Returns at least had all that. A superman movie without kryptonite might as well be named "Random Summer hit movie come see it."
Well, I was one of the first to say I wasn't feeling the early choppy feel, but after watching it whole, I don't mind it. I think they just didn't want it to be the same as the other origin films. Been there done that, and I accept that, and I like it afterall.
A little fast, but I think they won't rush it too much in the sequel. As far as casting goes, I think it was just about perfect. Returns is the one I hated the casting. I hated all their choices basically other than Routh. I knew this one would be different than anything we have seen. Btw, on the krytonite, it's been rumored that it will be used later. Again, they didn't want the same ol story to start off the new franchise.
You're wrong. Why would a Superman origin story have krptonite in it? How would anyone know what his weakness would be? No reason for kryptonite in this movie. Hasn't been discovered yet as a weakness.
I thought the story for this was better than Returns. The story in that movie was weak sauce overall. Luthor was made weak in that story. The overall plot was dumb. Superman leaving for 5 years was even dumber especially after promising after Superman 2 he would never disappear again and Returns was a direct sequel for Superman 2. Also, Superman having a child with Lois Lane was random and never written about before.
I expected a rehashed story, but was ok with having something new and fresh. I've read a ton of Superman comics, watched a ton of animated shows and movies as well as live action movies so I've pretty much seen it all when it comes to origins. This story was different in a sense but still had alot of the same themes overall. Only thing really new was how he defeated Zod in the end.
Returns didn't have all the elements. When does Superman ever have a child? Lex Luthor's version was an outdated version as well. It was an outdated story from an older time and no one really cares how Superman was portrayed in older movies when the comics have better and fresher stories. The story and characters in Returns were weak sauce and apparently DC and Warner Bros agreed which is why they blew it up.
How were the characters all wrong in this movie? You're just too fixated on kryptonite.
How else was Superman gonna stop Zod at the end? Vulcan death grip?
The story wasn't bad at all. I was alot more entertained with the pace and story compared to Returns which was very boring in my opinion. Returns got most of the characters wrong when it counted.
I didn't say all, but most.
The characters were miscast. Perry White ain't black. Amy Adams was possibly the worst actress for this job and Pete Ross got relagated to being a nerd and so miniscule I wonder why they even had him in.
How else was Superman going to stop Zod? How about how's he's always done.
And of course the Story suffered in this movie because they focused far too much on the action rather than take their time with the developement of the story.
I'm not even hating on this movie. I liked it but not because it was so awesomely constructed but rather because of the high pump action. About what you can expect from a summer flick.
Some of the remarks I'm seeing here. In my opinion, this start of a new Superman franchise could be the best ever. I agree the action was a bit over done, but not a single character was made to be foolish. Things like kryptonite I don't expect will happen, as the space ship went FTL and a planetary explosion will not.
I love the way they reimaged Superman, just like I love the way the reimaged Star Trek, and Battlestar Galactica.
And that materrs... why?
In Battlestar Galactica, Starbucjk was a guy i the original, and a royal bitch in the reimaged. Boomer was black in the original, but an asian woman, and Cylon at that, in the reimaged. Cain was a male in the original, and woman in the reimaged.
What's your problem with a different concept... that lacks predictability?
And of course the Story suffered in this movie because they focused far too much on the action rather than take their time with the developement of the story.
I suspect they have plans to have a second, third, etc. to complete storyline arcs.
Hopefully they make Luthor as bad ass as he should be unlike in Returns whch was a joke. With the Lexcorp signs, he won't be anything like the character in Returns. With Lexcorp, he will be a badass in a business suit, using all kinds of technology. I don't think he will be the main villain either. Probably more of a behind the scenes villain instead.
To be fair to Returns, they were using the same characterization as the original. And unfortunately they had him trying to pull the same thing - some over complicated real estate scheme. Like Joker in TDK, I expect them to make him believable and scary this time around.
Saw it today, and like every other Christopher Nolan story, it needs a fucking re-write.
We were robbed of a "big reveal". You know, when Superman reveals himself to the world to save the day? The best we got was a quick clip of him saving the oil drillers before he even knew who he was.
The rest of the film played out like an "independence day" meets "transformers" meets "superhero film" meets "bad romantic comedy". The script was just boring and over-complicated and full of plot holes (like ALL Nolan films).
I thought Cavil was better than Routh. But the point of having him grow up in Kansas is that it makes him "human". He may have been born on Krypton but living on earth made him "one of us". This superman was the total "fish out water" the entire film. Russell Crowe was easily the best of the bunch. Amy Adams was just okay i guess. Costner was fine but they took 5 or 6 scenes to convey the exact same message (you are here for a reason..you cant use your powers for selfish reasons etc) that the original film did in one.
I give it a C. At least this film didnt have villains who only failed because they were incredibly stupid like in "The Dark Knight Rises".
Thanks Nolan. You ruined both Batman AND Superman.
He was responsible for the story and was producer. They used his name a lot while promoting this film so I definitely thinks he deserves part of the blame.
Im sure by now youve had a chance to see Dark Knight Rises a second time and are probably aware that (to borrow from Kevin Smith) you could drive a truck through the plot holes in that film.
That being said, I dont think Nolan is a bad DIRECTOR. The scenes are filmed well and the acting is decent enough. Its his writing thats shitty. He should let the writers write and the directors direct (and NO, his BROTHER doesnt count as a real writer).
Hes not the only director who thinks that he can write when he cant.
James Cameron embarrassed himself with Avatar but Im sure you liked that too.
Getting back to THIS film, I think another problem is they seem almost embarrassed by Superman nostalgia.
I heard a story on NPR about a woman who bought her first house and painted her bedroom "superman blue". Interesting that these guys decided that in order for superman to be "cool", they had to make his costume the darkest shade possible that could still be considered "blue".
I was totally confused about supermans scream when he broke Zods neck. My brother told me "it was because he just killed the last of his kind" and i bought that might be true until i watched the red letter media review in which they speculated it was because he had to kill someone (and superman doesnt do that). They hadnt established that Superman was against killing anyone (even bad guys) and it seems stupid that he would be against kiiling Zod considering they had both just destroyed metropolis during their over-the-top fight scene.
Just a really bad script. I give props to Cavil for doing his best (again, much better than Routh) but he didnt have much to work with.
You didn't give him "part" of the blame, though. If anything, the blame should be given to Goyer and Snyder first and foremost, if you didn't like the movie.
Eh, I enjoy pretty much every superhero adaptation on some level, but this was a little disappointing. I was surprised at how little humor there was in it. Sure there didn't have to be super breath blowing ice cream in the face gags, but the two or three attempts at humor were pretty awful (Col. Swanwick's 19-year old captain aide saying he's hot :rolleyes). Shaky cameras in every got damn scene made me think they couldn't afford anything but handhelds after the CGI budget. Fake zooms and lens flares. As was mentioned before, 3D is not necessary.
(probably spoilers ahead)
Worst...Jonathon Kent...death...EVER. At least duck and cover, dumbass.
Why does every writer have a huge bug up his ass about the S meaning something other than Superman? Just have him slap it on the suit later after he gets his name.
Broken neck? After all that fucking beating without a scratch he can get his neck broken?
If you have to make Superdude into Jesus, it isn't really necessary to set up the cross pose by saying he can save everyone. We get it.
My big Easter egg was seeing Emil from Smallville early in the movie.
Speaking of Smallville, seeing Supes fly up into the Kraken--er, World Engine and punch it in the dick was almost exactly like the tv finale when he flew up into Darkseid and punched him in the dick.
If you just fell a few thousand feet out of a plane and witnessed the destruction of your hometown with the attendant thousands of deaths, is the first thing you really want to do making out with an alien in front of your boss?
CGI Zod with real head before the final battle was just odd. Movements looked a couple of generations old.
Storywise it's hard to think they didn't shoot their wad too early for a sequel. The Reeve series started with a ridiculous real estate scam (Otisburg?) but at least it could build from there. Really, where do you go after having two giant spiders double team hate fuck the earth? The Avengers may have a similar problem.
The Daily Planet has the worst background checking system in the world, OTOH it has the most efficient structural repair team in the world.
Superman is a blabbermouth. Tells Zod precisely how to control his new powers.
Some good acting (Cavill, Agent Van Alden, Javert-El), some indifferent (Perry Black, Detective Stabler). For all the screen time Faora-Ul got, I can't think of anything about her at all aside from the Klingon one liner that was duly bookmarked for later. Amy Adams just seems out of place in a blockbuster, and looks a little weird in blue filter IMAX. Score was good. Reeve movement nods were nostalgic.
Then there's this:
Superman’s battle with Zod cost $2 trillion, killed 129,000 people (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/06/21/supermans-battle-with-zod-cost-2-trillion-killed-129000-people/)
I have a question for you guys. In MOS, Clark Kent has flashbacks when he was a boy. In one scene he's playing with the dog and has a cape on. He never got to see his real father growing up (they wore capes). He even posed with his arms on his hips with the cape on. Are we to assume that there were super heroes around at the time? Maybe Batman, since it was Bruce Waynes satellite that was seen in the movie. I guess I'm asking who he was imitating?
Now that I finally watched the movie, I'll say that Snyder cannot direct drama. The fight scenes were good, of course, but I'd take Nolan's wonky fight scenes over Snyder's if it meant I didn't have to sit through the oddly paced, flat scenes with dialogue. Everybody who said that the ending fight was excessive are completely right. I wonder how many thousands of people died.
COMIC-CON 2013: Batman and Superman Man of Steel 2 Logo Revealed! Team-Up Officially Announced!
http://www.movieweb.com/comic-con/2013/news/comic-con-2013-batman-and-superman-man-of-steel-2-logo-revealed-team-up-officially-announced
Warner Bros. has officially announced Man of Steel 2 (http://www.movieweb.com/movie/man-of-steel-2) will feature a Superman and Batman team-up, on screen for the first time, and the film will be released in 2015!
Actor Harry Lennix (http://www.movieweb.com/person/harry-lennix) delivered an infamous quote from The Dark Knight Returns (http://www.movieweb.com/movie/batman-the-dark-knight-returns-part-1) before director Zack Snyder (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder) revealed the official logo.
"I want you to remember Clark. In all the years to come. In all your private moments. In all the years to come, my hand at your throat. I want you to remember, the one man who beat you"
Christopher Nolan (http://www.movieweb.com/person/christopher-nolan) will executive produce, with director Zack Snyder (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder) and Henry Cavill (http://www.movieweb.com/person/henry-cavill) returning. Here is the official PR:
On the heels of the worldwide success of Man of Steel (http://www.movieweb.com/movie/man-of-steel), director Zack Snyder (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder) is bringing together the two greatest Super Heroes of all time - Batman and Superman - for the first time on the big screen. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution,Warner Bros. Pictures.
The current hit, Man of Steel (http://www.movieweb.com/movie/man-of-steel), has taken in more than $630 million at the worldwide box office to date, and climbing. Along with its star, Henry Cavill (http://www.movieweb.com/person/henry-cavill), the upcoming film brings back Amy Adams (http://www.movieweb.com/person/amy-adams), Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane (http://www.movieweb.com/person/diane-lane). The new Batman has yet to be cast.
Snyder (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder) is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer (http://www.movieweb.com/person/david-s-goyer), who will then pen the screenplay. Production is expected to begin in 2014, with an anticipated release date inSummer 2015.
Greg Silverman released the following statement.
"Zack Snyder (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder) is an incredibly talented filmmaker, but beyond that, he's a fan first and he utterly gets this genre. We could not think of anyone better suited to the task of bringing these iconic Super Heroes to the screen in his own way."
Sue Kroll added her own statement.
"We are thrilled to be back in business with Zack (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder) and his team on this next movie. The success of Man of Steel (http://www.movieweb.com/movie/man-of-steel) is a wonderful testament to the love and support that both fans and new audiences, worldwide, have for these characters. We are very excited to see what Zack (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder) has in store for all of us."
Diane Nelson, President, DC Entertainment, had this to say.
"Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder)'s continuing vision for the DC Universe."
Zack Snyder (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder), who made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con today, breaking the news to audiences there, had this to say.
"I'm so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill (http://www.movieweb.com/person/henry-cavill) in the world we created, and I can't wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter. Let's face it, it's beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world."
The new film brings back Charles Roven (http://www.movieweb.com/person/charles-roven) and Deborah Snyder (http://www.movieweb.com/person/deborah-snyder) as producers. This time, Christopher Nolan (http://www.movieweb.com/person/christopher-nolan) and Emma Thomas (http://www.movieweb.com/person/emma-thomas) are serving as executive producers, along with Benjamin Melniker (http://www.movieweb.com/person/benjamin-melniker) and Michael E. Uslan (http://www.movieweb.com/person/michael-e-uslan).
Emma Thomas (http://www.movieweb.com/person/emma-thomas) offered the following statement.
Whilst our Dark Knight (http://www.movieweb.com/movie/the-dark-knight) trilogy is complete, we have every confidence that Zack (http://www.movieweb.com/person/zack-snyder)'s fresh interpretation will take the character in a new and exciting direction. His vision for Superman opened the door to a whole new universe and we can't wait to see what Zack does with these characters."
The film is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel (http://www.movieweb.com/person/jerry-siegel) & Joe Shuster (http://www.movieweb.com/person/joe-shuster), and Batman characters created by Bob Kane (http://www.movieweb.com/person/bob-kane), published by DC Entertainment.Man of Steel 2 (http://www.movieweb.com/movie/man-of-steel-2) comes to theaters in 2015 (http://www.movieweb.com/movies/2013/week/2014/week/48) and stars Henry Cavill (http://www.movieweb.com/person/henry-cavill), Amy Adams (http://www.movieweb.com/person/amy-adams). Meh. He's grown up a lot as an actor since Daredevil, and even then for a film that was a long string of weak links I think he was the least weakest of the bunch. High praise I know. One report I saw mentioned a $50 million offer for him to keep suiting up. Not sure if that was for just the next movie or to stay on through the whole Justice League arc of things. Who knows if a syllable of that is true though? I would think they wouldn't want to have to contend with any more comparison to Nolan's Batman series than will be absolutely necessary. I'm not trying to start a debate on those movies (there's plenty of threads already), nor am I saying that this can't match or even eclipse those films. But that series had its own voice or tone or style or whatever the fuck they want to call it. If they're playing the same long game that Marvel did towards a Justice League flick then the new Batman will need to find one of its own, one where superhuman and supernatural elements could fit more seamlessly at least. I think it's a gimme that the new ones would have to be less gritty and realistic because of that and I can understand how this announcement would set off some alarms with fans thinking about just how far some of Affleck's work goes in the opposite direction.
i figured someone would make that "Michael friggin Keaton??" point, and it is a fair argument. There was a lot of derision over that decision. I'll say this though, Keaton had shown far more range by that point in his career than Affleck ever has. Keaton, imho, is one of the most underrated actors and still the best overall Batman. I don't think I've seen a scene from Affleck as sad as Keaton in Night Shift when he breaks down about his life or starts to unravel in Clean and Sober.
Affleck is not that great of an actor, this decision is similar to George Clooney in part 4 imo. Likeable, decent actors, but putting more emphasis on their star wattage. Keaton was actually inspired.
tbh, i really don't give a shit, i'm sort of wanting to see what kind of trainwreck this film will be. I figured that as soon as they said it's due out in 2015, they were hurting its chances of being great.
Man Of Steel is more Zach Snyder's fault but there's no defending Dark Knight Rises. It had some incredible set pieces and overall was better than the typical summer movie, but in hindsight that movie just isn't very good. The camera panning in a circle around a kissing Batman & Catwoman had a laughable "shitty Kate Hudson rom-com" feel that makes me want to vomit. Basically everything about that movie except Bane sucks. And then they had to ruin him by making him a lovesick pedo.
Still a lot of the blame rests on Nolan. Nolan tried to make Batman as real as possible and all dark and moody. You know the schtick. So when Man of Steel gets made, hey let's do the same thing! Make it as realistic as possible! I'm sure the studios pressured Snyder to do that to capitalize off Batman's success so that's why it was all fagged up with Superman being emo and killing tens of thousands of people.
And agreed about Rises. Everything about the movie except Bane sucked. Entire solar systems could fly through the plot holes in that movie. :lol it was funny when that movie first came out and his fanboys flooded its IMDB page with 10/10 ratings and made it the best movie of all time on the site :lmao
