Is there anybody out there in Spurs land that would genuinely miss the Red Rocket if the Spurs decided to end their soulless ginger love affair? Who would miss the dogged toughness Bonner brings? There have to be some Bonner fans out there and it's time to come out of the woodwork.

Damn you're right. I should have included a poll so that Bonner could see once and for all that he's not just the red-headed step child of the NBA.

Besides the opponent, SpursTalk.

Bonner's responsible for half the content.

Tim Duncan would when he had to play an extra 5 minutes a game during the regular season. Bonner is a great regular season minute eater. He is priced at a reasonable price for that. He is the 4th big for the Spurs. Get over it already.

Great guy and the ideal 3rd/4th big man to have on our roster because his skill set is crucial to our offense. Unfortunately, ideal is the key word.

This dog can't jump, can't run, and just stands there as the rabbit blows past him. This dog don't hunt no more and in fact it never did.

Come 2015 you'll still be seeing the Red Rocket in a Spurs jersey.

So you basically started another Bonner thread because you were too lazy to search and post in one of the other 50 Bonner threads circulating around Spurstalk?

lol what happened to the Matt Bonner who was ready to whoop KG's ass?

Then again, Shane Heal almost did the same thing.

Had nothing to do with laziness. If you don't like the thread don't post in it. Simple, eh? Not like Spurstalk is so packed with new threads you can't keep up and threads like this one hamper your experience.

Anyone else excited to reignite the old rivalry if Howard goes to LA? We can see some great match ups. Parker vs Nash, Ginobili vs Bryant, Bonner vs Howard

It's tragic, really. We're the only team in the whole Western Conference whose backup power forward can't hang with Dwight Howard. :depressed

Honestly though, I don't understand the hate. I do understand why nobody wants him on the team because he's not an adequate player for us, but he's a good smart dood who puts in effort. Don't hate the player, hate his game.

Chazley would slit his wrists...

He should play 15 MPG in the regular season then become the 5th big in the playoffs.

He sucked ass this postseason, but our downfall was not a result of Matt Bonner.

Tim Duncan

I would LOVE to know how Tim Duncan really feels about Bonner.

I mean...he sees the guy shoot in practice, so I'd have to believe he at least respects his abilities.

But after the last, what....3 or 4 playoff flameouts, do you think he is not sick and tired of the dude being a liability (and possibly keeping him from getting that fifth ring?). Or do you think appreciates his ability to "spread the floor" and open up the paint for him to work?

My bet is that Tim Duncan would never throw another teammate under the bus....but secretly, he wouldn't be shedding any tears if Bonner didn't suit up in silver and black next season.

still have images of bonner stepping on the court for 2 minutes and the spurs getting outscored 8-0
which included a putback and dunk by nick collison and getting beat in full court transition by kendrick perkins for a dunk
and losing all momentum and a good lead

problem with bonner is even if we leave him on the bench he actually makes a good deal of money and he takes up a roster spot someone else could have or money they could better allocate
