I keep hearing people say porn is detrimental to development etc. I'm interested to know what people think. Is it bad? Is it good or a bit of both. Louis Theroux has done a couple of docos on it and I get the feeling for the actors it is bad. But does watching it impact development?

I think porn is for people who don't get real sex.

to answer the op, no, sex is completely normal and part of life. It's instinctual and for the vast majority of human history, people have been getting busy at early ages. there are some weirdos that can't handle the power of endless free porn at your fingertips and turn into chronic masturbating freaks but those are the same people who can control their willpower and turn into alcoholics or whatever they choose to abuse, be it porno or not.

As for the actors/actresses, I'm sure the dudes love getting paid to fuck bitches all day long. The women I imagine are either really kinky bitches who are naturally open to sexuality or they are drugged up whores trying to get by...probably the latter because women are objectified so much in porn and treated like a fixture. I can't imagine getting slapped around by 6 guys and throat banged and jizzed on while they call you a dirty slut is very good for their development/self-esteem.....then again they probably have issues to be in this profession in the first place

Interesting, in some docos I saw by a Brit the porn stars he interviewed didn't seem happy and some even said after a while the fun and intimacy is removed from sex forever, I mean thats fucked

This is such a 90s POV take. :lol

Abuse, drugs, rape, low self esteem has little to do with why these pornstars get into the business nowadays.

They do it because they like it and because of the money.

Also, how do the female pornstars get treated like fixtures? They're the ones in control of who they want to fuck, when to fuck, how to get fucked, and how far she wants to take it. (2 dudes, 3 dudes etc)

The girl is the star in porn. Not the dude.

They get pay up to 5k per scene. Almost 3 times as much as the guy.

there are pro's and con's....by and large Porn is like a high calorie food...as natural survival instinct our brains are programmed to want high calorie foods such as refined carbs and high fat junk food...porn like these foods offer super stimulation way beyond anything we've ever encountered in life. Like our brains are wired for high calorie food , so is our brains for porn and sex...you have get it while the getting is good because you never know when a famine is coming just like in the old days when it came to food...so like with food and our natural survival instinct our brain is urging us to binge on porn or sexual partners with every opportunity we get while we can.

The main difference is that unlike junk food you can never get full...just like rats we were basically designed to lose more and more interest in sex partners after each orgasm...studies in rats have shown that the longer you have sex with a single partner the harder it is for you to cum...but when you have multiple and new partners you cum fairly quickly...and in some cases 2 or 3 times per session. :lol

For those that think I'm bull-shitting it's called the Coolidge Effect :lol and it's what causes us to get hooked on porn...then we look for exotic and different types of porn just like sex...we want to try more and more and more...maybe even until we end up gay...well for some of you :lmao

A good example is Hugh Grant cheating on his fine ass wife Elizabeth Hurley with that hook Divine Brown...that was clearly the Coolidge effect..He'd been fucking her for so long till that pussy just didn't excite him anymore he need some new black pussy :lol

Even if you're happily married you may say you'll never cheat (man or woman) but if the right person walked before you...juicy lips, big tits, nice ass, and deep pussy...:lol your brain would process it as yes let's fuck right now or wow I wonder what it would be like to have sex with that person..we all do it...married or not..you're a liar or in denial if you say otherwise...

After watching Taboo and Taboo II, I became convinced that both my mother and sister wanted to have sex with me. I propositioned them, and was immediately kicked out of the house. I've been living on the streets ever since. So yes, you could say it affected my development.

I'm an Accountant for a company that produces porn(not the vanilla type too. It's located in SF.......so you can figure out what type).

The few directors who I met who produce(and star) seem like nice, regular people tbh.

Kink.com? What I've heard of them suggests a fairly pleasant work environment and generally above board policies.

"The porn industry" is too complex to generalize as all the way positive or all the way negative, I think. I certainly don't see anything wrong with pornography as a concept, and I get the appeal of watching people fuck, but there is a lot in current mainstream porn that I find to be problematic. I'm particularly bothered by how much of mainstream porn involves violence toward and/or humiliation of the female performers. It makes more sense in kink, since the power dynamics are the appeal, but strikes me as unnecessary to the appeal of watching sex. And I'm completely turned off by how often the scenarios depicted take away the woman's agency or control over her own body. And I think that both of those things, coupled with how increasingly available pornography is now, ultimately have a detrimental effect on people's expectations and on the way men and women relate to one another.

the industry is really not in great shape. good old internet. why pay when you can stream. and its not exactly like porn is something people take pride in enough they want to pay for to support it.
the chicks dominating shit is true, many guys turn to gay for pay or as everyone else calls it becoming gay.
the money is why chicks get in now which explains why so many are leaving faster

that was a funny ass post. Taboo 2 at that age is pretty hardcore. I had seen some hardcore stuff even younger, but not as wild as Taboo 2. Taboo 2 is definetly a rare sequel that's better than the first, sort of like a Godfather 2 or Empire Strikes Back. even though I think Honey Wilder is much hotter than Kay Parker, Kay was sexier in her scenes in part 1.

but back to the Aussie's question, I think porn is probably bad for you. like anything addictive, it probably messes you up in the end. I'm not gonna google some shit to prove my point, other than from my own experiences. I just feel like porn misrepresents sex. That's why i prefer the amateur stuff, where's it's some shithead filming his girlfriends ass with an iphone while hitting it, least that is more realistic.
