From 1987 to 2010 (nearly a twenty five year period) Harry Reid publicly advocated for an audit of the Federal Reserve. Furthermore, Harry Reid introduced a Senate amendment to audit the Fed each year he was in office–up until at least 1995. Today a bill calling for a Federal Reserve audit has passed the House for the first time in the Fed’s one hundred year existence…and Harry Reid is vowing to never let the bill come to a vote.

It's like that with most meaningful reform. The demonrats will always say how they are for such reforms, until they actually have a chance to do it. This is a common place for them, and many republicans too.
