It's too early to say if "monkeyball" will doom Griffin's career to an early peak and quick decline. All we know right now is that his stats are pretty good for a second year player, having just put up two 20/10 seasons in row shooting >50%. Those stats are roughly comparable to Duncan at the same point in their careers, though Duncan was probably putting up those stats in a much more sustainable fashion.

Blake's far from the best player in the league, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want a dude with that much potential on my team.

Being entirely honest, I think he'd be less popular if he was as black as KG. Unless he acted like a rapper thug and sold his own line of gold chains and rims. White people like Blake. If he was black like KG, he'd be just another dumb nig with a huge vertical to those people.

I don't think he'd be any less protected by the NBA, because dude gets hammered a lot and very rarely is anyone suspended for it. It isn't like a Steve Nash situation where you can't even bump him into some padding without getting suspended for two games despite not hurting him at all.

Not to mention, Stern loves any monkeyballers that bring in casual viewers. Those players always get protected and artificially boosted through favorable officiating.
