Well...

I've lost track whether it was 1 or almost 2 years ago it's been so long, but I think a chimp with a metal detector could have gathered $700 by now.

1.92 cents per day would have paid off Mr. Jim already. Maybe duff already has guys.

How does everyone know about this loan?

because Duff asked for it on here, and Jimcs told him online he would do it.

The poster named Duff McCartney stole $700 from a nice, but stupid poster named Jimcs. The End.

Not nice. I would want my cash back if I had it stolen.

The guy is a dentist so it's like the equivalent of a teacher getting 56 apples stolen. Nothing tragic, but you'd like to see the guy break even after his generousity.

Correct. I wonder what the loan was for.

""""""""""""""""""""""""School tuition""""""""""""""""""""""

He supposedly was going to pay him back as soon as his student loan check came in. Needless to say, the check never came :(... for Jim :cry

So this person just came on here and asked for a loan from anyone? And someone came through? And now the nice person is geting stiffed?

Crappy.

Yes, that is why many are outraged. Duff swore up and down and across the sea he would pay him back. Gave him a 1000 thanks and all that, but with no incentive to pay but his pride and reputation at stake the answer was easy for a guy like Ramon Silva (Duff). He just didn't pay. He's that kind of guy.

Well, I hope a lesson has been learned here by the ones that are kind enough to do such a thing.

Think twice.

Yeah, cause that is pertinant to this discussion.

Something pertaining to Sports,

but, this is about real life.

Typical Longhorn...

They made an agreement on this message board (or at least publically enough that a lot of people here know about it), and one side didn't hold up his end of the bargain. Quite similar to you and your antics, quitter.

Besides, I'd hate to be known as someone that doesn't keep their word, real world, message board, or otherwise. A lot of us "typical Longhorns" feel the same way. Maybe it's something we're taught in Austin that you missed in whereever you went to school...

I mean, maybe it is on a sports message board. But you're still representing yourself.

Personally, I don't want you to leave. But in all honesty, most people on this forum wouldn't trust you in real life now that they know you don't keep your word. If, for instance, someone on this board was looking at the possiblity of working on a business deal with you, they would have good reason to not proceed with it.

It's a message board, but you've got to stand up and say you were wrong. You can't completely hide behind everything you say just because it's a message board. You've given people a reason not to trust you. That could come back and bite you in real life. So it could possibly matter someday.

Most people are asking you simply to own up to what you did. You simply don't see that you would be much better off in the end if you actually did that, but maybe someday you'll understand.

And I hope you don't go. You're one of the personalities that make the forum what it is. But you bring it on yourself. As you get older, I hope you'll realize that you can actually do things differently.

That's all I'm going to say on it. Back to basketball.
