Lets use our best scientific resources we have to go to Mars in hopes of finding a 2 billion year old Honey Bee fossil instead of finding out why the Honey bees on earth are dying.

I thought it was well established that it was pesticides. You don't hear about the african bee scare anymore. We know what killed them off.

They may have faked the previous Mars missions.

They most certainly faked the Apollo moon missions.

I won't be surprised if it turns out that they faked this latest Mars mission.

Considering the fact that "que" isn't a word in English and looks stupid in that context when another word was clearly intended, I sympathize with the pain it inflicts on people who care about saying the right thing.

It's a very very common error, especially since there is another word that is pronounced the same, but means something different (queue). I didn't call you a dumbass, I wasn't rude about it, just accept it and move on.

Oh, I will get rude though if you ever use the hackneyed construct "conversate". That one is my pet peeve.

"que" is a government conspiracy to replace english as the de facto official language with spanish

"conversate" is a duelling government conspiracy to replace english as the de facto official language with fucking dumbassish

please by all means... I won't say that I am not a hypocrite, but for the most part I am not a willful hypocrite.

FYI to WCobra, it isn't about misspelling, it is about a completely wrong word.

The stuff we learn on other planets may help us fix stuff here. Or, at the very least, help up develop and "ark" to which a colony could be sent, in an effort to perpetuate our species...just in case we can't fix stuff here.

The rover will reach speeds as high as 13,000 mph in attempt to land on mars. A super sonic parachute is suppose to slow it down. How do they even test something like that out. In theory sure but a actual test? God bless

And the cool thing is that mission control could not make adjustments on the fly. It all had to be pre programmed based on their best mathematical work and just let it go. Crazy huh?

Neil Degrasse Tyson tweeted yesterday that it had to travel 154M miles to land in an area which was 12x4 miles - proportionately much more difficult than a hole in one (LOL)

An amazing feat.

I think I read that by the time NASA was aware that Curiosity was beginning it's descent into the Martian atmosphere, it had already been on the ground (hopefully in one piece) for seven minutes.

Pretty awesome! Kudos NASA.
