Matt Schaub got me 9 fucking points. Kept Stafford on the bench b/c of opponent, which was a dumb move. You always take the better QB, regardless of opponent.

Meanwhile I have 142 pts with a quarter of miles Austin and calvin johnson to go. That is all in a non ppr league. Fuckin. A

I was already winning going into the SF game but thank you Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree for locking that shit up for me (also Randy Moss for being the decoy I thought he'd be when I didn't draft him). Now any points Michael Turner gets me tomorrow is just stat padding. 1-1, just like my Colts and Cutler's 5 point outing didn't fuck me in the ass like I thought it would.

My fantasy team should be averaging 150 pts a game...but, instead I'll be 1-1 with 132 pts this last week. Good call DD on the Spiller Express--sat Dwayne Bowe and I'd be up near 155 but I'm ecstatic that all 3 of my QBs put up good solid games with Phillip Rivers giving me the most of the points (should have had 34, but I'll take it...) I'm beginning to think my team is going to make the money rounds at the very least...

Thank you Vernon Davis and shame on you Gostkowski!!!

I am getting scoffed in my league for offering Forte for Michael Bush/RGIII. Am I wrong in thinking that even with that injury it's a fair trade?

Keep in mind, this is a 10 team league where RB's are more valuable. Out of the 10 teams, 7 of them have QB's already that are clearly better (Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Stafford) or where getting RGIII would be a marginal upgrade based on talent/league scoring (Eli, Matt Ryan, Peyton, Vick). The guy with RGIII has Cam Newton ahead of him so he can't bench Cam and he's getting 0 points or value from RGIII because he's on the bench.

His starting RB's are Charles and Sproles in a non-PPR league. I know Forte is out, but he would be their #1RB and they are giving up a guy that is a bench player for them. Forte isnt out all that long either from what most reports seem to think.

I wouldn't do it. It is not that he should trade you because he is getting no benefit from RGIII. He is holding on because he can get more outta someone else for RGIII. I would make fun of you too if I were in your league. He is smart not to panic. Someone will get injured then RGIII becomes worth far more than an injured forte.

That logic is so bad to me. It's about what the market says for a QB in our league. It's not common that there are a lot of injuries to top QB's. Most of the teams (as I have listed) have QB's that are better or equal to RGIII - so why would they give up anything of value (like a top RB) to get him? Also, since it's a 10 team league, everyone has very capable back ups in the event of injury (guys like Alex Smith, Luck, Schaub, Flacco...)

Also, again, taking that out of the equation, how many RB's are better than Forte that you think you could get for RGIII??? Forte is by all accounts a top 10 RB: Foster, MJD, McCoy, Rice, AP are off the table by all accounts. McFadden, Matthews, Murray, Steven Jackson and maybe a Chris Johnson/Gore/Lynch are RB's you can put in the same class as Forte. So if you are looking for a RB under these conditions, who could you reasonable expect that is better than Forte?

So when you start to factor all I have said, I don't see how it's bad at all if you are looking for a stud RB in return for RGIII. It's not like Forte tore up his knee. He's out for a couple weeks with an ankle. Also I have McFadden & Ryan Matthews and they aren't on the table for RGIII. So that really limits the market for RB's.

I guess he could wait for an injury, but at that point, he's just wasting away a guy on his bench vs trading for a RB he will start every week as his best player at the position. From a value perspective, even as a top 8 QB I don't see how RGIII is more valuable than a Forte.

The uncertainty surrounding Forte is definitely cause for concern--even if it's just minor. Also, Bush poaches goal line carries from Forte--so if he's not in a PPR league, why would he give up a skyrocketing stock like RG3 when his value will only appreciate with time (in all likelihood). RG3 had 82 yds and 2 tds rushing yesterday--he's half RB-half-qb

Well, I just explained the logic (at least how I see it and the reality of the situation in my league). Maybe I just see things differently.

As of 1 week ago, he put RGIII on the block and has received all of 0 offers as I anticipated.

Even boiled down, I don't see how if you are looking for a RB, that Forte is not a top option. If it's just because of the injury, that is a gross over-reaction because it doesn't appear to be that bad and all RB's have injury issues pretty much. RB's that you could def argue over Forte: Foster, McCoy, Rice, MJD, AP. Other than that it's that other group of 7 RB's and Forte is in there to round out the top 10-12 RBs.

If passing tds are worth 4 in your league then that definitely doesn't help either--since both his qbs are dual threats. It makes them extremely valuable

It's not really that uncertain IMO. The reports are out - it's a high ankle sprain, 2-6 weeks, but we all saw him trying to cut and get back into the game (just couldn't go). If it was that bad, he would look like Hernandez (on crutches and not able to walk).

Even with Bush poaching goal line carries (for example, best case scenario for Bush where he had 2 TD's) Forte still was the number 9 RB in all of fantasy and outscored Bush by 33% in my league. While it does not help Forte, it doesn't change the fact he is a top 10 RB in any league by all accounts IMO.

RGIII's value is irrelevant IMO. I explained why. Even if he ends up being a top 6 QB, it's only a 10 team league. The teams with Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Stafford, Cam just will not trade for him because it's not an upgrade. The other teams with Matt Ryan, Peyton, Vick & Eli have to ask is the marginal upgrade worth significantly losing a RB better than Forte (there is only maybe 9 or so better). The reality of the league says he will get no offers for a top 10 RB better than Forte.

It definitely helps because he only starts 1 QB. Doesn't matter how good an asset is if everyone already has that asset (which in our league, everyone with the exception of 2-3 teams has a QB that's better or close enough to RGIII that giving up a top 10 RB isn't smart).

Yeah, I would've had 154 this week with Bowe in instead of Fitz...I am still holding out hope the Cards will get it to Larry a few times or I will have to probably sit Antonio Brown for Dwayne Bowe. last week was another week that I dropped the ball as I had Spiller starting at flex but switched him at the last moment. I hear what you're saying, I honestly do...I just disagree.

Forte thrived last year b/c there was no true 2nd banana poaching his touches (MBIII was THAT bad). In 2010 I had Forte and Chester Taylor poached all his goal-line scores...it was infuriating. Bush looks to be pulling a Chester Taylor

Look, those guys are better football players, and RG will probably fall off at some point, but for now, he is one of the top 3 fantasy players. I mean, Brady hasn't hit for two weeks in a row. Maybe that guy gets fed up and trades for a better QB. Your offer is just flat out bad. I might consider it if you didn't have Bush involved, but even then I would ask for more (a flex level player). He does really need a RB. What people that play fantasy football fail to remember is it's not about fantasy points, it's about fantasy point per position. QB's by nature score more fantasy points. Because Carson Palmer has scored more points than Ray Rice, does not make him more valuable.

If you need a RB, who in your mind do you think (taking the other variables I have mentioned out) you could fetch for RGIII? Where do you rank Forte in the RB rankings? I have him as a top 10 RB, and if you agree, I fail to see how that is "flat out bad".

To answer your question, I haven't played non-ppr in years so my rankings would probably be fucked up as far as legitimacy is concerned. I can tell you I would probably rank him Top 5 when healthy IN a PPR league, though.

Ok, so looking at that list perhaps Rogers has ANOTHER bad week next week (or Brady who is missing from the top ten). You don't think that those guys at least start thinking about upgrading their QB, then they look around and see that there is a team that has the lead quarterback on their bench. That lead quarterback has 25% more points than the guy in second place (and certainly a ton more than their guy). They are going to give up more than an injured top ten RB to get him.

Well that is where we disagree. I just highly doubt, due to the amount of good QB's there are, that anyone with a top QB (Brady, Rogers, Brees, Stafford) is ever going to give up their top RB's for another QB. They have hitched their wagon and those guys, even if under performing give you enough points to compete every single week (as you see every year). Everyone below that (Eli, Vick, Peyton, Matt Ryan...) are in the same boat. There is only a gap in the number 1 QB vs everyone else (after just two weeks, and that will change and the gap will close).

RGIII's value is as high as it's going to get & getting a top 10 RB is as good as it will get (as evidenced by them getting 0 offers at their asking price which is one of the 9 RB's that most would rank near or ahead of Forte despite him being the number 1 QB).

The question is, in a nutshell, would I rather have Brady/McFadden or RGIII/Sproles. Too everyone in my league that seems to be an easy answer & why he is getting no offers despite RGIII have the best possible start he could.

That's pretty close. I'd prob have Ryan Matthews & McFadden in there over Sproles and Bush, but I can see the argument. So with that said (because myself and most of my league probably has similar rankings) do you think you could get Foster, McCoy, Rice, AP for RGIII when those guys all have these QBs (The guy with Foster has Matt Ryan & Peyton, the guy with McCoy/AP has Romo, the guy with Rice has Vick).

So realistically, the guy with Romo may think it's worth while to upgrade, but I doubt you get McCoy. He might offer up AP which I agree would be better. So that's one guy.

I have CJ Spiller and Forte - CJ not on the table. When you start to look at it like this, getting a top 7 back (injured or not) seems to be more than fair is all I am saying.

What people don't realize is that Spiller has done all this damage on just 29 carries this year. He was a 20-25 carry back at Clemson for 4 years, so you know he can handle the rock more than he already has. He is the Black Jesus

Post your teams and I will work out a trade tbh...

DD, what do you think about me offering up DeSean Jackson for Fred Jackson in that league we have been discussing. That would leave me with insurance for whatever happens with Fred/CJ and give me a total RB list of: McFadden, Forte, Spiller, Fred Jacson, Ryan Matthews and Donald Brown.

My QB would be Rivers. You start 3 WR/TE spots in this league. My WR's would be Smiles Austin, Percy Harvin, Greg Olsen, Denarius Moore & Greg Little.

In this league it's non-PPR and you can start either 4 WR/TE or 3 RB's (have to start 3 WR/TE & 2 RB's).

I figure if I can do the Jackson for Jackson trade, I can then off load Forte for a number one WR (maybe Marshall, Fitz...) and still have the most stacked RB's and a solid enough WR core. Thoughts?

I love it--but yeah, be careful of thinning your WR core too much. Your plan is solid enough, though. How did Jackson do for you this week? Either way, he's an injury concern and definitely expendable in NPPR league

If you get that stacked at RB, then more than likely you won't have to make any offers--they'll all come to you, which gives you more leverage.

Ryan Fitzpatrick
09-17-2012, 05:01 PM
btw, for fellow Spiller-owners:

In two games on 29 carries, Spiller has 292 yds, (#1), is averaging 10.1 yds a carry (#1), with 3 TD's (#1). He also has 5 receptions for 72 yards averaging 14.4 yds. a reception (#1).

DeSean put up over 100 yards receiving and got me 14 points which is usually more than enough to help win. Only reason I am not 2-0 is because I put Jay Cutler in over Rivers.

Tough choice.

I would choose Cam b/c he's bigger (probably more durable) and has another year under his belt. Now that Orakpo and Carriker are out for the year though, Washington could be in a lot of shoot outs.

Lincoln
09-17-2012, 06:03 PM
Hard to say, cam has better and more offensive weapons around him and already has a year under his belt. RG3 will have to make more plays for his team so id go with him but it's really your call.

I just can't pull the trigger on it straight up bc I have Rivers. It's an upgrade if RG stays the course but I could use Forte to really upgrade at WR IMO. Tough call.

I would start Antonio Brown, DD. His floor is low IMO and he still has not reached that ceiling.

I am thinking about doing a trade in my PPR league: I give - Ridley/V.Jackson & I get - CJ Spiller/Edelman.

Definitely risky with Fred Jackson's return & it would make me really thin at WR, but I would have RB's in that league of: Ray Rice, CJ Spiller, Ryan Matthews, Steven Jackson & Donald Brown. My WR's (start 2) would be: Nicks, Ogletree, Titus Young, Jermichael Finley & Bennett.

My plan would hopefully be to move Brown or Jermichael Finley, maybe even Steven Jackson for a WR that is about as good as Vincent Jackson.

Need advice...

So I picked up Andre Brown but I'm not sure if I should play him tonight. I already have BJGE, Trent Richardson, and Michael Bush starting as my flex this week. Bush should see high volume against the Rams with Forte out. Richardson's going against Buffalo, and BJGE faces a depleted Washington defense. Would anyone bench one of these 3 in favor of Brown?

yeah, I am sorry about that. I am glad you did too. Meanwhile I got trashed by him last night (my opponent started him).

Its a little uncomfortable, but I think I am still ok. He also had an underperforming steve smith and I just realized that I have:
Austin v. a TB defense that gave up 41 last week
Calvin Johnson v. a Ten defense which has scored 7 points all season and gave up 38 and 28 respectively
and for my flex I have a choice of
Wallace v. an oakland D which scored one point in each of games 1 and 2
or
Wayne vs. a Jax D which scored 4 points in wk 1 and 0 last week

For that matter I may start luck vs that same jax D over vick against the surprisingly good AZ D.

My Team:
P. Rivers
D. McFadden
R. Matthews
M. Austin
P. Harvin
M. Bennett
C.J. Spiller

His Team:
Vick

DPG21920
09-23-2012, 10:51 AM
Ya, maybe. I like my RB's a lot better overall: McFadden, Matthews & Spiller v. Rice, Bush & Smith.

His WR/TE are definitely better, but I am hoping the gap in my RB's is bigger than his gap in WR/TE. Luckily, Bennett had a solid game so should offset Stevie. Now it's Miles/Harvin v Graham/Julio.

the fear boners inches past passwordistaco, adds insult to injury

the fear boners (2-1) 127.24

passwordistaco (0-3) 125.07

the fear boners got 23.10 points from matthew stafford and 21.58 from antonio brown, stealing one from passwordistaco 127.24 - 125.07. Passwordistaco is having trouble getting started, and doesn't have a win to speak of yet. Passwordistaco couldn't capitalize on an increase in point total compared to last week's 112.08 - 97.91 loss against lol utsa. The fear boners (2-1, 440.12 points) falls to fifth place while passwordistaco (0-3, 332.03 points) stays in last place.
the fear boners smooth moves

the fear boners won despite having only 2 of their 10 starters exceed their projected points.
antonio brown scored a season-high 21.58 points and beat his scoring projection by a season-high 45.4%.
the fear boners got the win, overcoming both of their rbs underperforming versus their projections.
passwordistaco regret tracker

should have started adrian peterson, who underachieved, but still had the most points of any rb on the team with 12.70 against a projected 13.53.
after a season-low 12.85 points against a projected 28.58, aaron rodgers has now scored below his projection in every game this season.
with a season-low 2.80 points versus a projected 15.93, jason witten failed to meet his projection for the second time this season.
in the midst of a season-low in scoring, doug martin also did not meet his projected points (9.40 points scored versus 14.02 projected) for the second time this season.
passwordistaco lost despite having only 4 of their 10 starters score less than their projected points.
what if

if the fear boners played passwordistaco every week, they would be 3-0 this season.
besides passwordistaco, the fear boners would have defeated seven other teams this week.
had they played each other last week, the fear boners would have defeated passwordistaco 178.13 - 97.91.
if they played the same schedule as passwordistaco, the fear boners would be 1-1.
if the fear boners had played every team in the league each week, they would be 28-11.
passwordistaco would have lost to five other teams besides the fear boners this week.
if they played the same schedule as the fear boners, passwordistaco would be 0-2.
passwordistaco would be 9-30 if they played every team every week.
game notes

although passwordistaco lost, they did put up the eighth-highest score for a losing team in the league this season.
passwordistaco has underachieved every week this season, scoring 125.07 points against a projected 134.03 this week.
the fear boners was not able to cover the 28.56-point spread in the win.
the fear boners won even though passwordistaco performed better against their scoring projection. Passwordistaco scored 93.3% of their 134.03 projected points, while the fear boners recorded 78.3% of their 162.59-point projection.
eric decker did his best in the loss, ranking ninth among all wrs in the league with 22.12 points.
despite being on the winning team, darren sproles had a season-low 10.56 points against a projected 21.14 and underachieved for the first time this season.
the win by the fear boners was achieved despite having victor cruz put up a season-low 10.20 points, and underachieve for the second time this season.
the philadelphia eagles defense had a season-low 10.50 points in the win against a projected 18.09 and scored below their projection for the second time this season.

If this is the 14 team league, you killed it. Vick is a risk, but high upside. 2 stud RB's (injuries happen to everyone, can't always plan on it). Very solid number 1 WR & number 2 has a big year IMO. TE is more than capable, but not spectacular, def and K is very good. Flex is solid as well, even if he can't repeat last years performance. Overall, this is pretty easily the best team I've seen in the league so far.

I had the same reaction at first. But when you look at the numbers, the Ravens run defense hasn't been as good as you would think. They've allowed 112 yards a game thus far. Then again that Browns offensive line is so so shitty.

I would've vetoed it too...you fleeced det guy. How many votes does it take to veto in your league? Takes 5 in my ESPN league...not sure about the ST yahoo league though, since it's 14 teams.

ELI IMO. Fitz scares me because without a fully healthy run game, that o could struggle.

4 votes for a 12 team league. It's too low. Should be majority (so 6 votes). It's not a fleece! I explained the value of RGIII already. There is a reason RGIII is on everyone's roster still getting them 0 points on the bench. He's worth what the league is willing to pay and no one would even think of offering more than I did because it's too much.

We just revised the trade and he accepted: RGIII for Steven Jackson/Vincent Jackson. We'll see...

He's still a number 1 WR and a talent. QB is shaky though. My WR's are weak after he's gone though, but I'll figure something out. I still have Nicks.

Prob going to get vetoed anyways. My friends only veto me. They think it's hilarious. They change their team names to things like "Veto McVetoer" and "Veto errrrrrrthang" and shit like that.

Hey Fitz whos gonna be in the backfield with you this week? My league is full of a bunch of dumbasses so I have all three in Spiller, Jackson, and Choice on my team...not sure on who to start though. :(

Yeah...you guys convinced me to start Richardson. I wasn't up to speed on the Ravens rushing defensive numbers this year until I saw your replies. I'll take this from Richardson every week and be happy.

yep, I started richardson, but have no choice. LOL. I have richardson, RBush, and DeAngelo Williams who I have to start this week because two of my receivers are on bye (mwallace and rwayne)

That's about what my running backs have given me.

Anyone want to give me an RB for Tamme and or Wayne, lemme know.

FkLA...if you held a gun to my head, I'd pick Choice b/c he's the only healthy one and he proved he can carry some of the load (20 car, 91 yds in 3 quarters last week). Freddie isn't progressing the way he had hoped for this week, but Spiller is the opposite--so just keep an eye on it around gametime.

Man, I only got 8 pts from Rice! Bummer...

Who'd you start: Vernon Davis (vs. Jets) or Owen Daniels (vs. Titans)?

Tough one bc I love the match up for Daniels, but Davis is just too hard to sit right now. He's peaking.

Davis. Because in the Texans offense the ball gets spread around.

Davis over Owens every week except bye

Yeah, I figured I'd roll with Davis since I need max scoring because Ray Rice didn't garner me anything...thanks for the advice.
