Actually, the poor widower was misled. It wasn't Romney that killed his wife...

Obama Bundler Kills Woman, Media Silent (http://www.jammiewf.com/2012/obama-bundler-kills-woman-media-silent/)

So seven years after Romney really left Bain this woman died. Yet left unmentioned is the fact when the plant closed, it was an Obama bundler (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/07/19/Obama-bundler-Bain-Capital) running Bain, as noted a few weeks ago when this whole bogus “Romney didn’t leave Bain until 2002″ meme surfaced.
So, Jonathan Lavine, managing director at Bain, who has bundled between $100,000 and $200,000 in contributions for the 2012 Obama Victory Fund, was one of the guys running Bain when GST went belly-up in 2001. He was also there when the ad's principal became a widower.

The Obama camp knew this when the "outsourcing" and "felony" nonsense blew up in their faces but, they just can't seem to help themselves. They've got nothing else, particularly since they're in the process of throwing Harry Reid and his smear under the bus.

"I like to fire people", Gecko is job destroyer.

Fire someone with health insurance, esp an middle aged, sick person, and they're most often screwed out of insurance completely, often condemned to bankruptcy and poverty for year, and perhaps forever for middle aged sick people.

So this ad is a reminder that ACA Obamacare, just like Geckocare in MA, is a humanitarian attempt to counter the vicious economic Darwinism that makes America the most inhumane of industrial countries.

Ooops! Did the Obama Campaign coordinate Soptic ads with a PAC? That would be illegal.

Team Obama denies knowing story of man in its TV ad, call (http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/08/team-obama-says-they-dont-story-of-man-who-stars-of-131462.html)

Asked about the Priorities spot on MSNBC Wednesday morning, Robert Gibbs said he doesn’t “know the specifics” while Stephanie Cutter said on CNN: “I don’t know the facts about when Mr. Soptic’s wife got sick or the facts about his health insurance.”

And Jen Psaki told reporters on Air Force One that “we don't' have any knowledge of the story of the family,” according to Yahoo! News.

But Cutter hosted an Obama campaign conference call in May in which Soptic told reporters the very story featured in the Priorities spot.

Both the campaign and the Priorities USA Action said there was no coordination about Soptic’s appearances. In the campaign’s ad, Soptic speaks only about the plant. In the Priorities spot, he tells the personal story he relayed during the Obama campaign conference call.

“We have no idea when Priorities shot their spot,” an Obama campaign official said. “We’re not allowed to coordinate with them – but we can tell you it wasn’t when we shot ours.”
I'm convinced. :rolleyes

So, for those of you playing at home, Soptic talked about his wife's illness, death, and lack of insurance (which turns out to be a lie, by the way), during a conference call hosted by Obama Campaign official Stephanie Cutter. The Campaign airs an ad that, while it doesn't feature the wife's story, features Soptic. Soptic is then featured in a Priorities USA Action "PAC" ad in which he tells the story about Romney murdering his wife...the same story he told on the Obama Campaign-sponsored conference call. And, for the kicker, Stephanie Cutter claims no knowledge of Soptic's wife's circumstances even though she sponsored a call during which the story was told.

Let's go to the tape:

tfOoZl0tHvQ#!

Sounds like he's reading form a script, too. I wonder who wrote it.

And, oh yeah, the lies! The lies!

GST was shut down after Romney left Bain but, while a major Obama bundler was running the place.

Mrs. Soptic was employed and had insurance when Mr. Soptic was laid off from the GST.

Same guy, two different ads. Same story, two different venues. Nah, no coordination there.

“We have no idea when Priorities shot their spot,” an Obama campaign official said. “We’re not allowed to coordinate with them – but we can tell you it wasn’t when we shot ours.”
:lmao

Having Mr. Soptic mention the pension was a nice touch.

Delphi salaried retirees get documents for their pension termination case (http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120610/AUTO0103/206100346)

Washington— The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp has turned over 62,000 pages of documents to a group of Delphi Corp. salaried retirees that are suing over the 2009 termination of the pension plan covering more than 20,000 current and future retirees.
I wonder how many "Soptic" stories could be mined out of 20,000 Delphi screwees?

I saw (and commented on) a clip from this show, in another thread. And, since Sorkin did a pretty good job with The West Wing, it's possible this show will receive some attention and that we'll see more of Sorkin's scripted political wisdom, played out in this forum, from the mouths of actors such as Jeff Daniels and Sam Waterston.

So, it appears he's already getting fact checked on his liberal nonsense, as well.

In this clip, John Samples of CATO completely destroys Aaron Sorkin's vision of free speech in general and the Citizens United decision in particular.

So, if you're keeping score at home...

1) Mitt Romney left Bain Capital in 1999.

2) Bain Capital shuttered GST in 2002.

3) Soptic's wife was still employed and insured through her employer in 2002.

4) Soptic has been employed since his layoff from GST.

5) Soptic's wife was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2006, after being admitted for pneumonia, and died 22 days later.

Now, we find out there's a 1.5.

1.5) Bain Capital offered Soptic a buyout in 2001, before GST was closed.

This should go down in history as the most dishonest, despicable, and slimiest political ad of all time. Shame on Obama. Shame on Soptic. Shame on Priorities USA Action PAC.

I'm not sure how John McCain is in a position to know whether or not the Swiftboat Veterans were being dishonest.

In fact, I went to Snopes.com and they found that the statements made by the Swiftboat Veterans cannot be classified as either true or false because they were opinions.

Apparently he had an opinion about it:

"I condemn the ad, it is dishonest and dishonorable, I think it is very, very wrong," and "I hope that the President will also condemn it."

In fact, I went to Snopes.com and they found that the statements made by the Swiftboat Veterans cannot be classified as either true or false because they were opinions.

That's exactly what smear campaigns are made of, ad-hominems.

If you digged a little deeper, you would also find out that: No members of SBVT were aboard Kerry's boat during any of the incidents for which he was decorated.

So, you're comparing the opinions of decorated war veterans to the demonstrable lies of Soptic, the PAC, and the Obama campaign?

Soptic is giving an opinion, as misguided, deceitful, implausible or wrong as you think it is, it's the opinion the group that paid for the ad is asking him to portray. Again, textbook ad-hominem smear campaign.

Not to mention that the bottomline is that both ads came from well-funded, well-oiled partisan groups behind them.

Honesty sounds a lot nicer when you don't get over $10 millions from Republican donors.
