Man, these Australians throw up some really ugly layup attempts. These guys are seriously professional ball players?

Free throws are killing us, giving them away at one end, and missing at the other.

Man these FIBA refs need to stop babying these NBA prima donnas. The FIBA game is meant to be tougher but the NBA guys are getting calls for everything.

Australia are going to get crushed, but at least call it fair.

Challenging Lebronze on a rebound is not a foul!

Team USA slowing stretching the lead. It'll be up to 30 or so by the end of 3

I would say the Australian team have been THE best performers relative to talent in the entire tournament. Russia second. They've played really smart ball in all their games.

Sidenote: interesting to see Mills sporting the flourescent yellow/green trainers that have been so prevalent these Olympics. May indicate (as with other athletes wearing them) he's got himself a nice Nike shoe deal, in which case, good on ya Patty!

Coach K giving Kobe so many charity minutes hurts America, tbh.

Australia likes to run that play where Patty passes then immediately slashes to the basket from around mid court

Australia with their own lob dunk play, run that more often, lol

Proud of the effort of the Aussies so far. They are clearly outmatched but aren't giving up without a fight

Good try, Australia. They've taken a pretty big step this time. Add Bogut and they are are legit contender for bronze.

The ironic thing is that KoMe is showing off for an Aussie in the crowd.

Knew USA would turn it on at some point, but honestly they looked unimpressive for most the game compared to what they are capable of.

They are going to have to play with more intensity from the get go against ARG

Props to the Boomers for keeping it close for most of the game. Very proud of Patty Mills as well.

Will Kyrie Irving play for AUS?

They will be scary good if he joins them and Bogut gets back

Why would Kyrie play for Australia?

Apparently he was born here or some such thing, and knows he won't make US team so..

I'm very proud of the effort the team put out tonight, and of the way they came back from 2 losses to start the Olympics.

Despite a relative dearth of talent when compared with the USA All-Stars, the Aussie team stayed with the US team for 3 quarters through a combination of guts and effort. The score is not an accurate reflection of the game.

Well done Boomers, you can stand tall tonight! :toast

PS As I keep saying, watch Patty become one of the best backup PGs in the NBA next season. We should run the play to get him wide open in the corner with his feet set at least 4 times a game. Great set-foot shooter! ;)

There was talk of Kyrie playing for the Boomers at this olympics, and it didn't happen. If he did he'd be ineligable to play for Team USA in future international tournaments. I guess he thinks he has a shot of making Team USA in the future. So it is unlikely he'll play for the Boomers, unless he is continually overlooked by Team USA.

Aussies just need to hope he doesn't play some stupid friendly for the US and get ruled out for us.

I didn't know that about Kyrie. How long was he in Australia for?

AussieFanKurt

Not long, only first couple years of his life I think
