The Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers are engaged with the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers in a four-way blockbuster that could ultimately deliver superstar center Dwight Howard to the Lakers, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

A deal is not considered imminent, but the talks have grown serious over the course of this week, sources said.
There are other players involved in these fluid talks, but a framework of the possible deal includes Howard and Denver forward Al Harrington going to the Lakers, Philadelphia guard Andre Iguodala going to the Nuggets, Los Angeles center Andrew Bynum moving to the 76ers, and Los Angeles forward Pau Gasol and Denver guard Arron Affalo going to the Magic, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Magic would have a better chance of moving Gasol in another deal to get further assets, sources said, and eliminate the risk of Bynum leaving them as a free agent in 2013. Nevertheless, there was still a sense that Gasol's and Bynum's destinations could be fluid in the talks. Either way, one would go to Orlando and the other to Philadelphia, sources said.
The proposed deal includes the Magic also gaining draft picks and salary-cap relief, sources said.

A source with direct knowledge of the talks told ESPN.com's Marc Stein that the Lakers will receive Howard, the Denver Nuggets (http://espn.go.com/nba/team/_/name/den/denver-nuggets) will get Andre Iguodala (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/2386/andre-iguodala), the 76ers will get Andrew Bynum (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/2748/andrew-bynum) and Jason Richardson (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/1018/jason-richardson), and the Magic will get Arron Afflalo (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3187/arron-afflalo), Al Harrington (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/308/al-harrington), Nikola Vujecic and one protected future first-round pick from each of the other three teams.
In addition, the Magic will be getting other pieces, including 76ers draft pick Moe Harkless (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/6591/moe-harkless), a source told Stein.
Sources close to the process tell Stein and ESPNLosAngeles.com's Ramona Shelburne that a trade call with the league office has been scheduled for Friday to secure the necessary NBA approval to make the deal official.

I would roll my eyes but this is just the Lakers being the Lakers. They pretty much get whoever they want, whenever they want. That's what happens when you're the team 99% of players grow up wanting to play for (including Tim Duncan) while being in the best market ... so there's really no reason to be angry. Tbh, with their built-in advantages, the Lakers should win every NBA championship.

But, anyways, what are the ripple effects of this trade in terms of the Spurs? My first thought is it should be an even bigger priority for the Spurs to sign another center. I haven't liked what I've seen when Splitter tries to defend Howard.

Thankfully, Duncan does rather well against him, especially when you factor in both ends of the court. But it's undeniable that the Lakers are now much improved.

Dude, 76ers got the best deal. Iguoadala is expendable. He's a swing man with limited offeinsve abilities. A 3rd option at best. Bynum will be huge in Philly assuming his health permits him to play 80 games a season. He was groomed well by Kareem and has championship experience. Despite of his immaturity he will do well under Coach Collins and I expect better things from him now that he finally has a team that can call his own. I really like the 76ers future tbh.
