yeah yeah we know this was last year and we know RC Bumford was the GM of record.

What i mean is like Tony and GNobs recruiting years ago. Seems like it was Sam Presti who was really the driving force behind getting one of them regardless of which GM signed off.

So likewise, who really scouted and honked Kwahi? Lets have some SpursTalk quality in depth reporting. :toast

Kawhi was who honked his own horn. But the most responsible for getting him was Greg Popovich. Hill was his favorite young player who got more breaks than anyother rookie before him but TD. Without Pop being on board, Leonard was never coming to the Spurs.

Hill got more "breaks" from Pop than Tony Parker or Manu Ginobili did in their rookie seasons?

As late as the 2003 championship Pop was benching Parker in favor of Claxton...

Not really true, but even if you want to make that argument, Parker played considerably more in his rookie season than George Hill did; and Parker wasn't benched heading into the playoffs like George was in his rookie year -- in fact, Parker started every playoff game in his rookie year. Parker played more minutes per game as a rookie than George has ever played in an NBA season.
