Since we like to draft and stash Euro players, what is to stop us from working out a deal with the team that Tony has an ownership. We could supply our draft picks in Europe to the team and help get a coach with Spurs history. With this we could send Lorbek, Hanga, Richards, Denmon, Bertans and a couple of Spurs who are not rotation players like Byers and Dawson. They have experience in the Spurs system and could help instill the system over there.

Is there anything in the NBA(or Euro) rules that prevents this?

if it just was so easy to get this players from the big clubs to join TP's team.

(and I think it would be illegal to give TP's club money for that in order to pay these players)

Spurs can only sign players to the Spurs or assign them to the Toros. Otherwise, they just retails their rights, and it is up to the player if they want to go player for a team in Europe, and what team they want to play for.

Well first off, he doesn't own the team, he has 20% ownership stake in it. There is a pretty huge difference in the amount of influence between those two positions. He is the vice president of basketball operations so he probably have some influence, but you make it sound like he can dictate the terms of everything the team does.

Secondly, given it is in the French Pro A league, why would the Spurs not want their draft picks to play in a league with higher competition like the Liga ACB in Spain, where they'll probably play in the Euroleague.

Finally, Parker is a Spur right now, but what happens in 2-3 years when Tim and Manu retire? Not that I think Parker won't maintain some connection with the Spurs Organization when he does retire, but even with that there is no reason why he would make the team he has partial ownership in, into a European farm team for the Spurs.

I was wondering something similar during the brazil arg game yesterday, if I owned a team I would look to buy a club in Brazil and try to develop big men there. Or at the least, have some kind of agreement where you send coaches / equipment and get priority on signing their players (pretty common in footba - er, soccer.) I think Brazil has the potential to be a great producer of big men.

would be doubly advantageous for my arg NT, to get some of those brazilian full backs off the pitch and on the hardwood :lol

however, I think the NBA franchise model probably prevents this kind of thing from happening.

It's not allowed by the CBA.

Parker's investment with his team in France has been quite a disaster so far. They have poor results on the court, they haven't grow up financially wise and their main project of building a big arena has been canceled.

Saying that, Spurs are involved in where some of their draft picks go. Mahinmi played for his last year in Europe by a team picked by Spurs and whose conditioning coach worked for Spurs. Spurs have too let go Denmon to Europe under the condition that the team will give him some playing time at the PG spot and that Spurs would get regular reports on Denmon.

Not to mention that his deal coincides with Neal's expiring and Mills' option.
