It has obviously worked in the past with Shaq and Fish providing the actual leadership on the floor. The missing piece is the highly-decorated Phil Jackson, obviously.
Will the current roster be enough to drag that corpse to the finish line or do they need to change the coach/add more pieces?

Nash is old
Dwight has a bad back. questionable tbh
Artest is old slow and a retard
Jamison, yep, old
Gasol develops a vaginanitis every April
Kobe, yeah, pretty sure he's old and he chucks like he's 19
Coached by Mike Brown

OKC with 48fts a game as Howard gets in foul trouble and shoots 40% from the line. Nash defending Westbrook, and Kobe being Kobe.
If Tony Parker can rape Pau and Bynum over and over, what do you think RW is going to do to broke back and broke back minor?
No

Get excited all you want...and maybe it's warranted, maybe it's not. But I think the Lakers just got rid of their future for a rent-a-player. And in my opinion, he's not that much better than Bynum. And Drew hasn't peaked yet.

The Lakers are in the same boat as SA sans their acquisition ability. They have old, about to croak players and the ship was sailing with a balding monkey at the helm. They have to do whatever to convince the fans (more demanding than SA fans) that they are at least trying to win a ship. Boat anchor doesn't make it any easier. If he cared, he would give up a few million to get good outside shooters around the bigs and go inside out.

Lakers fans' tiny brains are attracted to star power and not much else. They actually believe Nash is going to magically resurrect his MVP form, Dwight will develop a Hakeem Olajuwon post game overnight, and their old and slow perimeter players will be able to keep up with OKC's horses.

Lakers stacked to be honest.
Pau to Howard high-low. Nash pick and roll with Dwight, Pau screen Dwight in the high post for an alley-oop from Nash, Kobe getting screens from Dwight and Pau for some 1 on 3 action, Kobe and Nash give and go, Kobe, Dwight, Pau go triangle.
It's over, Lakers vs. Heat in 2013 finals.
