son Kobe has only been the clear cut choice for the Lakers best player from 2004-2007 whenever he didn't have Shaq, Gasol, and others to hold his hand every step of the way. this is not my opinion, but pure fact. see below ...
sons I posted this in another thread, but for those of you not viewing it I didn't want you to miss these truth bombs.
what did Kobe do during that 3 and a half year span when he didn't have daddy there? oh yea that's right! he didn't do shit!!!
Kobe as team leader without Shaq or Gasol ...
2004-05
Lakers: 34-48 (failed to even make playoffs)
2005-06
Lakers: 45-37 (stomped out by PHX in first round)
2006-07
Lakers: 42-40 (stomped out by PHX again in first round)
2007-08
Kobe cries to be traded because he knows he can't lead a team so Stern sends him Gasol and the Lakers immediately hit a 10 game winning streak that started on Gasol's third game as a Laker and they finish the season 27-9 since Gasol's arrival.
lol sons he led the Lakers to a 121-125 record during the 3 seasons without Shaq. :lol
I knew he was pathetic as a leader, but I didn't realize it was that bad.

He could be the 12th best as long as he helps us win titles. Who cares? Oh that’s right, all you obsessed types who know what's coming and the only solace you have is ripping our 18 year veteran. As if that diminishes our joy or rains on our parade route.
The only thing all these posts or threads do for us real Laker fans is acknowledge how truly insecure most of you are. It’s quite beautiful to see. Keep em coming!

Yeah, If the haters watch as we pile up the chips--I say fuck 'em...let them rot rooting for the Spurs or whatever. It's just fortunate the Lakers' FO aint a bunch of do-nothings or whatnot. From the days of Magic and on to the future, as long as the Buss Empire runs shit--things won't be exciting in the City of Angels.

This is lolable really. I'm assuming you just see it as coincidence but the Lakers giving away nothing to get a reasonable big in Pau and once again giving away nothing ultimately to get Dwight. The Lakers are just lucky they get the ratings and thus NBA helps them get the best. There is no way in hell the T-Wolves would ever get Dwight and give away nothing.

So then, Kangaroo Jack, do you explain the Knicks? Playing in a larger metropolitan area than L.A., has just as big of a t.v. contracat and monetary support as the Lakers do but yet, they are run inadequately even with all those resources? It is somewhat luck, but if you're going on the 33rd year of having some starpower and being a playoff contender, it isn't just 'luck' it is the ability for the FO to do something. Because if it was warranted by how one' stance in the financial upwind of the league, Dolan would even have a title contending team or Chicago would have been able to flip the script. So be it if you're going to weird out on some conspiracy theory. Fuck it. Orlando had other offers and the league could've forced their hand to N.Y. or Brooklyn I mean but it didn't. So I'll take whatever suits up with the PnG and stand behind them.

Let's take a look at Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Do you know who that is? Well, He was a 6x Champion, 2x Finals MVP, 6x MVP, 2nd in Playoff points, and #1 in regular season points. After he got traded from to the Lakers in 1975, he did not have a great player until 1979-1980 season when his team got Magic Johnson. You want to know what Kareem did without Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson while he was in his prime?
1974-75: 38-44, Missed the Playoffs
1975-76: 40-42, Missed the Playoffs
And I would like for you to explain me how Pau Gasol has been better than Kobe from 2008-2012?
2007-08
All-Star: Kobe - Yes, Pau - No
All-NBA: Kobe - 1st team, Pau - None
MVP: Kobe - Won award (1st), Pau - Not a single vote
2008-09
All-Star: Kobe - Yes, Pau - Yes
All-NBA: Kobe - 1st team, Pau - 3rd team
MVP: Kobe - 2nd place, Pau - Not a single vote
Finals MVP: Kobe - Won award, Pau - No
2009-10
All-Star: Kobe - Yes, Pau - Yes
All-NBA Team: Kobe - 1st team, Pau - 3rd team
MVP: Kobe - 3rd place, Pau - Not a single vote
Finals MVP: Kobe - Won award, Pau - No
I could go on, but there is no point

I think it's funny how kobe got 1 win in the 2nd round the last 2 years with the best front court in the league. And now he's going to be the reason if they win? No, it's going to be the fact that they finally added a top 10 talent in the league to the team. We all know kobe could never win without a top 10 player on the team. It's not Kobe, it's the Lakers the are the reason Kobe keeps winning. The Lakers are just a great team more so than Kobe being a great player. Orlando never gave Dwight even one guy close to the talent he now has beside him in Gasol, Nash and Kobe. The best sidekick he had was Hedo and Jameer:lol

not a lot of team can go win 3 straight nba finals. obviously jordan, kobe/shaq and russell did it, thats why they are all exceptions. among the top 10 goat list, many have failed to win 3 straight. kobe's back to back with fisher, odom and gasol were impressive tbh.

Additionally, Kobe's team won, Dwights team loss. who cares who guarded who. At the end of that day, its a freaking result. Dwight wants a championship ring so he joined the guy who already has 5 is all I'm saying.

Your argument is that all great players had help. Like always, your troll schtick is to use more words than necessary to get that across. You failed though, since Kobe had tons of help and still couldn't get it done.
Jordan didn't get Barkley and Thomas along with Pippen. Had he done so, he wouldn't have lost like Kobe did.
Bird didn't get Hakeem and Ewing along with Kevin and Chief. However, those people you cite were nothing before then, unlike Shaq, unlike Pau, unlike Howard, unlike Malone and Payton.

Stat fag,
1. Why can't he win when he doesn't have the strongest team on paper and why couldn't he win at times when he did?
2. Why was he swept by the Mavs last year?
3. Why did he lose to the Thunder this year?
4. How did he lose to the Pistons with 4 HOFers and a HOF coach on his team?
I don't recall Jordan doing that after he'd rang already.
1. He's won every year his team was good enough to except 04
2. Back to back defending Champions, 3 straight WC Champs
3. Thunder were clearly better
4. Injuries, chemistry problems, and a little bit of himslef

1. He's been in a lot of playoff games and he shoots a lot.
2. See number 1
3. Because shaq won the first 3 and Pau didn't get his.
4. Because the Lakers still had the best frontcourt in the league.
5. Shaq
Let's look at how many times he's led his team in TS%.:lol
1. And MJ and Kareem don't?
2. See a doctor
3. So Pau deserved those Fianls MVPs huh? :rollin
4. And the Lakers had the best player in the league, while none of his amazing frontcourt got a single MVP vote in their entire careers
5. What did Shaq win without Kobe? I'm just using your dumbass logic.

:lol you mad cuz we got Nash and Howard Dawg :lol
my point is that the years Kobe didn't get it done he had no help...
Kwame who openly asked Kobe not to pass him the ball bcuz he was scared...I submit that MJ nor any great player past or present has played with a guy that said don't pass to me because I'm scared :lol
Secondly he had smush parker, Devean George, Chris Mihm, Chucky Atkins, Luke Walton, Brian Cook, Sasha Vujacic, Radmonivich ohhh and let's throw in Lamar "inconsistent" Odom for good measure...by comparison who was Timmy playing with during this time :lol
2008 - Bynum and Ariza were hurt DNP in the finals vs. Boston...prior to the Gasol trade I think we were like 28-13 and making a strong run to the play-offs...Pau came in and gave us that extra lift to the finals
2009 - Title Yr....Bynum avg during the regular season 14 pts and 8 rbs and only a paltry 6pts and 3 rebounds during the play-offs and during the finals he avg 6 pts and 4 rebounds...I hardly call that help :lol
2010 - Title Yr. Bynum avg during the regular season 15 pts and 8 rbs...during the play-offs he avg 8 pts and 6 rbs....during the finals he avg 7 pts and 5 rbs...again you call this help from a 7-1 275 lb guy? ok :lol
2011 play-offs he avg 14 / 9 and acting like a baby against Dallas
2012 play-offs he 16 / 11 and wet the bed against Denver and but yet again against OKC when it counted the most...again you call this help...
Don't even get me started on Pau in 2011 and 2012 we all know he wet the bed...point is Kobe has always been put in a position to where he has to baby sit players, coach players, defend their positions because they can't (defended Westbrook, Harding, and Durant) defended Ty Lawson in the Denver series...and on top of all that he has to carry the scoring load because our "All-Star" bigs either get out hustled and out played down low or the simply get pushed out the paint by shooting guards (Pau) :lol
My nigga Kobe is the real deal...get over being mad DIMC we got Dwight you didn't..we got Nash to feed Pau now...stop being mad :lmao

kobe couldn't even get to the finals with the best front court in the NBA for the past two years and now gets an even better front court.
No one makes the Finals 5 straight times, unless you count the Celtics, Cousy days. Kobe made 3 straight Finals appearances winning two with basically Gasol as their big man, who I might add was really good in both series but nothing to scream about.
Kobe dominated the series against Orlando and his 15 rebounds (more than any other big man in that game) and 12 points in the 4th quarter was the main reason LA won back to back.

Defending Kobe's legacy is easy tbh, simply because he did it all in his era. There's simply nothing you can say about him that will diminish his importance and status among the All Time Greats. Yes he's a chucker and I think his ability to score has always been his greatest curse because it gives him reason to disregard his teammates sometimes. But really, 5 championships as the teams best closer is nothing to sneeze at. I'm going to maintain my stand that without Kobe's progression in LA's 2nd and 3rd championship run, Shaq may very well end with just 2 titles because no one pushed Shaq like Kobe during the Diesel's prime.
Kobe did most of the dirty work (Portland, Sacramento series) and Shaq simply cleaned up the plates (Indiana, NJ and 76ers)

CP3 was an ideal choice. But the media hates floppers and CP3 was the worst of his kind. If he played like a man, he would earn the media's respect.
