echoing a thread philip had earlier regarding Ben Folds...what's your opinion of them: yay or nay?

I think they had their own little thing going, but it's still hard to put them up with the greatest classic rock bands of all-time...although Rumours is arguably a Top 10 album, imho

Stevie Nicks in her prime was pretty hot, imho.

They're a nay for me. And I especially don't like Nicks as a singer.

Old school Fleetwod Mac circa 1970, Peter Green with some killer blues guitar:

World's different from the Stevie Nicks era pap.

When they were Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac I liked them a lot, as we know Green, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie had all performed with British blues legend John Mayall. Slide man Jeremy Spencer a big fan of legendary Elmore James showed up early on.

Once Green and Spencer left and they added former Chicken Shack vocalist Christine Perfect the wife of McVie, they took off in another direction, not as bluesy.

With Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks they were good but too mellow for my tastes. As we all know the group always had a lot of in fighting and conflict.

Probably the best Brit/American band. Not that they have any rivals.

My old man is a big fan of Peter Green, but I honestly haven't listened to him much---will give it a chance though. As for the modernized version of the band, Nicks was hot but I always liked McVie and Buckingham better as singers. One Nicks-led song I always liked was "Gypsy," though...

The original Foreigner 6 man lineup was a UK/US band, split 50/50. It was the reason for the name of the band, since whichever country they were in, half the band would be foreigners.

A lot of people, actually most think of the Stevie Nicks period when they think of Fleetwood Mac. But in my opinion they played their best stuff when Peter Green was fronting the band. It was his band.

She was the only good thing about Fleetwood Mac.

Love her voice.

They're an eh to a nay for me. I do like a couple of their tunes, but for the most part, I could do without them.

They are definitely one of those groups whose bad songs are the only ones that get airplay.

Stevie really had a unique vocal sound after she rotted out her septum with coke.

Meh for me. I don't know any about the Peter Green era, but I never cared for him as a solo artist. I prefer Bob Welch's contributions, my favorite FM song is "Hypnotized"; the only Stevie Nicks song I like is "Gold Dust Woman".

I was at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame a few days ago and I was surprised that Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer are inducted with FM, but Bob Welch is not.

Nah, The Police are the best Brit/American band. They immediately came to mind. Can't think of any better off the bat.

FM is OK -- one of those bands I've heard so much on the radio I never bothered to buy any albums. Love "Albatross" from the original lineup.
