With CIA Pop closing in on a run of 6 straight years with playoff ouster, what should we do if -heaven forbid- Pop got hospitalized or for some other reason was unable to lead the Spurs?

Who could continue Pops philosophies and stratagems?

What coach in this league or any league would have been able to lead the Spurs to a championship for any of the last six years?

I'm not sure anyone would be able to do more with the pieces available than Pop has. 90% of the other teams in the league would fire their head coach in an instant if it meant they could bring Pop in.

Continued with seeking out and extending Dick Jefferson.

Which coach with the credentials of Popovich would get outcoached by Scott fucking Brooks!?

Pop is overrated & people are just gonna rely on the past because they know he just rode Tim to 4 titles!

2006 rookie Avery Johnson
2007 got by that dynamo Mike Brown. Congrats!
2008 takes Bowen off Kobme in another bow down to Phildo
2009 damn near swept by Jim Carey in Round 1
2010 swept by Alvin Gentry
2011 worked by Lionell Hollins in Round 1
2012 as mentioned Scotty Brooks.

Not sure Scott Brooks had anything to do with James Harden shooting 70% from 3 in the last 4 games of that series.

Who would you rather have as head coach, honestly?

How about Vinny Del Negro?

Clippers would be delighted to trade.

Enough hijacking of this thread.
We've got 5 straight years and 6 of 7 going and goshdarnit, lets make it 6 straight and 7 of 8 and beyond.
This is about T_Park and/or jikkkkt taking over and keeping this thing going in the event the NBAs best coach gets hospitalized.

Seriously I liked what I saw from budenholzer. He has no problem doing whatever it takes to get the W. Pop's reaction time seems to be a little slower these days. He probably understands the need to get better offense/defense balance.

yeah, I always want Pop gone too, until I consider the alternatives...

definitely no one currently in the NBA, maybe some foreign coach who still utilizes team basketball...

but, this is the NBA, team ball has no place here, team ball will not win here,

Player >>> Coach

this old school team might as well stick with their old school coach and just be above average until the wheels fall off

Pop thinks he is overrated too ... remember in that Summer League commentary interview where he said "a coach of the year should not lose four in a row ... think about that one" ...

But I wanna keep him. I hate he is overplaying Bonner and does not play Tim and Tiago together for longer stretches, but he is still the best man for the job ...

I would say Peter Holt or Phil Jackson

If Peter Holt doesn't know Pop inside and out by now who does?

Who is to say all these years Peter Holt has not been pulling a Jerry Jones and Micro coaching the team all along?

Phil Jackson the Zen Master has the Jedi powers needed to crack the CIA Pop's code and reset the password as he hacks his way in for another ring.

Just think Phil Jackson and Tim Duncan both retiring the same night they hold up the 2013 NBA Championship Trophy.
