WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House is "dusting off old plans" for a potential release of oil reserves to dampen rising gasoline prices and prevent high energy costs from undermining the success of Iran sanctions, a source with knowledge of the situation

Prolly never. Maybe you can get lucky and find something referring to oil prices. He does campaign a ton, you know the kind where you make a lot of promises pandering to a particular crowd to try to get a vote. He is good at that. This is the first I've seen durning the past 4 years. Our buddy el nono reached back to the bush years to find something like this. God bless

One campaigns a lot, the other vacationed a lot... neither seemingly cares, tbh.

I thought Obama's argument against increasing drilling was that increased oil supply wouldn't lower prices.

It won't, that's why tapping on the reserves is just a temporary measure and a political grab.

There's no reason to vote for Mitt. Ron bless.

Can you say moratorium?

Are you able to carry two thoughts in your head? One can be worried about oil prices and SIMULTANEOUSLY be even more worried about the state of the regulation of the oil industry's safety practices.

Despite your inability to grasp this concept,I assure you that there is nothing magical about the ability to balance two thoughts in one head.

I'm sorry that my thinking is too complex for you. That's your lack of intelligence. Not mine. Worse yet, for you to assume what you do makes it even worse on your part.

U.S. Reliance on Saudi Oil Heads Back Up

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2012/08/17/business/Oil/Oil-articleLarge-v2.jpg

The United States is increasing its dependence on oil from Saudi Arabia, raising its imports from the kingdom by more than 20 percent this year, even as fears of military conflict in the tinderbox Persian Gulf region grow.

The increase in Saudi oil exports to the United States began slowly last summer and has picked up pace this year. Until then, the United States had decreased its dependence on foreign oil and from the Gulf in particular.

This reversal is driven in part by the battle over Iran’s nuclear program. The United States tightened sanctions that hampered Iran’s ability to sell crude, the lifeline of its troubled economy, and Saudi Arabia agreed to increase production to help guarantee that the price did not skyrocket. While prices have remained relatively stable, and Tehran’s treasury has been squeezed, the United States is left increasingly vulnerable to a region in turmoil.

The jump in Saudi oil production has been welcomed by Washington and European governments, but Saudi society faces its own challenges, with the recent deaths of senior members of the royal family and sectarian strife in the eastern part of the country, making the stability of Saudi energy and political policies uncertain.

Considering the concerns about peak oil, except for the balance of trade issues I really don't see the problem with using oil from the middle east now and saving ours.

thinking US oil/gas corps will sell US resources only to US consumers! They have NO patriotism or allegiance to USA. T hey are totally supra-national, globalized.

They will sell to highest bidder, which is why LNG terminals are being constructed, to sell US NG on the world market where prices are much higher.

He and Avante should get together and combine their powers of posting the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again.
