View Full Version : P-90X or other workout regimen?

When I changed my eating habits a few weeks ago, I weighed in at 240 lbs. Since then, cutting out beer and soda and taking in less carbs and no fried foods, I dropped down to 215 pretty fast. All of this while the only cardio I did was walking/slight jogging and playing lots of basketball. I feel more energetic now, but still would like to drop another 10 in a month or so. After that, I am thinking of P-90X or something similar.

I'm at 215 now, but would like to stay in the 205-210 range after toning up, maybe even 215.

Any of you fellas try any of those programs out there or just did things the old fashion way?

How long did it take you to drop to 215?

About 6 weeks. I think alot of it was water weight as I dropped about 8 pounds in 3 days. then it was gradual from there. I slipped up a couple of times, when I went to San Antonio and drank a Big Red or 3. :lol

Nothing special for me. Just rearranged my diet, pretty much cut out fast food completely. Drink tons of water (no sodas, juices...an occasional beer. There's some things I won't compromise on). Hit the gym about 5-6 times per week, but don't overdo it while I'm there.

The only "special" things I take are my pre-workout drinks, protein shake post-workout, some amino acid supplements, and a daily multi-vitamin. I wasn't necessarily THAT overweight before I started, but I was rather chinny. It all came to a head when, over the Christmas break, my Uncle told me "You're not fat. You're just short for your weight."

Dick.

Kinda like my own wife telling me, "It doesn't look THAT BAD on you, because you're tall". She was referring to the extra weight I picked up being married to her for 13 years. :lol

Key word...routine. Your body wants a routine. You need a system and stick to it.

actually that's about as wrong as it gets.

you want an initial routine and then change it up to keep your body balanced.

Sorry but you're wrong.

I'm talking about sleeping/eating/workout schedule. Certain times you do things. Yes the actual workout routine should vary but not when it's done. You get into a rhythm. Your body will adapt.

Why do you need a P90 to cut through fat? A less powerful weapon will do it just fine.

At 6-2 and decades of lifting I'm anything but overweight. Forget the charts they do not work.

Right there is the fun in this. I get a kick out of the disbelief, it's funny. I had a ball with redzero. Then once I proved that yes I have a shitload of music, no more fun. Bummer!

I'm exactly who I say I am. Big powerful guy.

It's far more fun playing this. I played ...I have a ton of music, books and a bench in a room of mine. It was...bullshit!!!!!! That went on for months, funnier than hell. Then I finally....fuck it...showed some pics. I miss that...bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!...it's funny. This is funny.

I was a fake track & field historian. I think everyone now knows that yes I am.

I was a fake owner of a huge amount music. I did show pics to prove that.

I was a fake artist. Then I drew some pictures.

I was a fake poet. So I wrote some poetry.

This is no different. I get a kick out of..."no you're not!"....when in reality, yes I am.

Well this thread went to crap. :lol

I was giving it some thought last night and think I am just going to workout like I did when I was working out with a trainer 10 years ago. Not max out lifting but light to medium weights and lots of reps. When he first introduced his workout plan to me back then I thought, no effing way, until I almost puked the night we did legs. I got results doing that, so I'll stick with what I know.

I'm hesitant to agree with Avante, but if he means getting into the routine of exercising daily at the same time and making it a habit, regardless of what you do for exercise, he is right. You can't go wrong doing that.
