Bad news for the Clippers: Team announces Chris Paul underwent "successful thumb surgery this morning
to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb." Dr. Steven Shin, a hand specialist from the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, performed the procedure in Los Angeles. Paul, who suffered the injury during Team USA training camp in Las Vegas last month, is expected to be out eight weeks, meaning his return should come around the start of the regular season. He played through the injury during the Olympics, but will now have to play catch-up after missing Clippers training camp and at least part of the preseason. This, of course, comes after forward Blake Griffin missed out on the Olympics to having a minor meniscus tear in his right knee surgically repaired in July. Griffin is expected to be ready for camp, but the same can't be said for his point guard.
