Don't you find them annoying? The internet is a free-for-all and they certainly have the right to, but some just take it over the top. I know of people who post every meal they have at almost every restaurant on Twitter.

yeah ive hypothesized the trend as people age...

when theyre teens, girls post pics of them making stupid faces in mirrors

when they turn 21, its either them making stupid faces in bars or taking pictures of drinks.

when they hit 25+, it's all food and babies.

all guys do is talk about sports :lol

Nothing like some girl around my age posting a picture of her pregnant with her 2nd kid with some caption about how wonderful of a blessing it is.

its hilarious though when the girl tags the "father" in all the baby's photos, and you can tell he wants nothing to do with them

Agenda driven food posters are the worst, ie militant vegitarians/vegans.

Actually all the "Love my Life" or "LML" posters are more annoying than anything else. :lol

This.

Or guys who do the same thing, talk about how great Mass was on Sunday and how filled they are spiritually, then hang out with their sancha while their wife is at home. :lol

I saw a girl on facebook in her early 20s posting "Why can't I go clubbing this weekend? You guys are so lucky :("

She has 3 kids.

:lol I'm Catholic but I never post about going to Mass nor do I have a sancha.

Another one that annoys me are the people obsessed with working out and posting about it or checking in everytime they go to the gym. Ok, we get it, you have lots of free time that some of us don't. Actually saw some guy from high school check in hours AFTER leaving the gym. He actually wrote, "Oops, forgot to check in today". :rollin

Oh I agree. One of my cousins started a "change your entire life" nutrition program hawked by some quack on that stupid The Doctors show. 3 times a day without fail we got pics of her disgusting meals with comments like "Oh I feel so alive since I've been eating this way" "My whole outlook on life is brighter" :lol Don't know if it worked out for her because that, along with her constant bs about the "savior of our country, Mr. Ron Paul" got her removed from my feed not long afterward.

I lol'd @ Ploto's post about sluts from H.S. whom are now holy rollers.

My ex used to do the Instagram posting of food and shit. I was always amazed at how she managed to stay in shape when she would eat out all the time...

Fuck.

Yup. I deleted a whole bunch of my teenage cousins because of that.

Also hated when my 14 year old cousin would change their relationship status from "In a relationship" to "It's Complicated". What the fuck can be so complicated? You're 14 fucking years old!!!

Fucking Facebook, and to a lesser degree Twitter, have become borderline intolerable and a clear example of just how dumb a majority of the people in this country are

At least Twitter has it right (so far) with the "promoted" ad tweets. Very simple to scroll fast and they aren't everywhere like ads on facebook - especially the mobile client recently. Following comedians on Twitter is the best :lol

According to one person quoted in that article, you and me are hipsters because we don't like daily updates of some dumbass' baby because 'it's a sign that they're settling down'. :rolleyes

But it's not just babies....I have a relative who is a "pageant mom" of teens. I just didn't need to see 100+ shots of her brats' big hair and giant teeth every week (not to mention all 900 of her moronic friends comments "Oh my god!!! She's soooo beautiful!!!") so she also disappeared from my newsfeed without much difficulty ;)

Once I see an album of 50 baby pics, that friend is gone. I don't care who it is. I don't wanna see that crap.

How about when you are out and about and you take a pic of you and your friends being out for the night and someone has to throw in the "Where's my invite" or "Thanks for the invite"? I hate that. I don't know how many times I have replied with a "next time" or "I was invited at the last minute". If I wanted you there, I would have invited yo ass. :lol

There are many redeeming qualities in regards to twitter

Foremost to me being news and sports.

For example, how often during the Arab spring was there a situation where locals tweeting about their experiences the only news to come out of their respective countries? Same in Iran during the green revolution. Twitter is quite often way out in front of the traditional press, although you have to realize that it's also very easy to mislead and lie when something is very difficult to substantiate.

I also think Facebook can be a good way to organize people for worthy causes. It's not all bad

But, as with most things in Amurrican "social media", it's been taken over and used mostly by fat mouth breathers for innocuous bullshit and vanity

I hate the people who bitch about everything every day and add FML at the end. I also have a few friends who check into the ER all the damn time, I know they just want the "oh is everything ok" comments.

If facebook has taught me one thing it's to stay the fuck away from most my cousins, they are fucking whiners/shit talkers/feel sorry for me bullshitters.

Even worse, people who take a picture of a tree or the sun rising, enhance it with a smartphone photography app with one tap, post in on Instagram and think they are photography experts :lol

Social sites are for teenage girls.

I should have said social networking. Regardless, ST is hardly social.
