How did his post-up game look during the summer league? Think he will be able to use this during the reg season? I hope he gets post-up plays called for him, at least one or two attempts every game.

How does Blair faceup jumper fare? :lol

He was used as a point forward in Summer League, silly.

"Summer league coach Jacque Vaughn called Leonard’s number often down the stretch, and occasionally ran post-up plays and pin downs for him as well."

Dude definitely has a knack for putting the ball in the hoop when he is around the basket. Would like to see him use it for more than just offensive rebounds and put-backs. I like his aggressiveness on those, though....he's already mastered the art of acting like he's going to pull it out, then slipping back inside to the bucket.

Agreed. We could use a player with a reliable back to the basket game. He's got great size to get it done! I hope he puts work into this.

Yep, he has great height. Especially with a lot of teams turning to small ball lately.

It is a tried and true game, MJ won a few championships utilizing that weapon and Lebron recently hopped on board too and got his first title. Kobe has a great back to the basket game too along with Oscar Robertson and Magic. Lots of titles for guys that have perfected the post-up game. Oh, there's another player too that won a few titles, hmm what's his name again? Oh right, Tim Duncan.

You can do it too Kawhi!

Kawhi has so much potential from running "point foward" , posting up, and more. He has sneaky athleticism, and with his long arms, would give him the edge to get shots over players in the post. Plus like most have mentioned he has a knack for finishing near the basket.

Imo I feel like Kawhi doesn't have exceptionally good touch around the rim, he's ok but not great..

Are you on crack? Outside of Duncan, there is no one better at finishing inside 5 feet, including Tiago.

I think KL's second in dunks last season.

I disagree... I've seen him throw up alot of garbage at the rim and need to follow it up on 2nd chance efforts....

...this is my opinion.

Come on, he's shooting 49%. That's not "blowing layups" accuracy.

I never at all said he was poor.. But he does not have exceptional touch around the rim.

Are these facts? 'cause last time I checked, Tiago had a 61 FG% and pretty sure most of his attempts come from inside 5 feet.

The Spurs have misused Tiago. It gets forgetten how many games he's been a difference maker turnaround going back to that Dallas game where the bench almost won.

Many of Kawhi's attempts inside 5 feet are putbacks. That's one thing I love about his game: when he gets an offensive rebound, he almost always immediately tries to put it back in the basket, provided he's within a few feet of the basket. It doesn't allow to defense to get set, and he's pretty good at the one-handed shot from close range.

And his offense last year were 3s, putbacks, and slashing to the rim for a thundering dunk.

49% from a rookie whose biggest flaw coming out of college was the 3 ball is no laughing matter. :hat
