after denying catholics request to say a prayer at the same event.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/dnc-announces-2-hour-islamic-jumah-prayers-after-rejecting-cardinals-blessing-and-you-wont-believe-whos-invited/#

The Democratic National Committee is raising a number of eyebrows after choosing to proceed with hosting Islamic “Jumah” prayers for two hours on the Friday of its convention, though it denied a Catholic cardinal’s request to say a prayer at the same event.

The event is being promoted on the official Charlottein2012.com page.
Watch the promotional video, via the Bureau of Muslim Affairs, which is partnering with the DNC for the event.

The first two minutes are rather dry, but around 2:04 a muezzin sings the call to prayer with an American flag background, and the video “picks up” considerably:

Up to 20,000 people are expected to attend the Friday prayers and Jibril Hough, a spokesman for the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), said the purpose of the event is to hold political parties accountable for the issues faced by Muslim-Americans.

In particular, the event will target the Patriot Act, the NYPD, the National Defense Authorization Act, and anti-Shariah sentiment.

what the fuck.

WTF indeed. If you are going to have one religion you should allow others as well.

They don't need a separation of Church and State when it comes to Islam. They can embrace it because it was not an established religion in the US when the constitution was made.

Certainly not when there's a voting demographic to be catered to.

What's Islam's position on abortion and gay marriage btw?

No sure catering to the .8% of the population demographic makes much sense politically.

Cardinal Dolan is a douche, but the Dems have asked him to give the benediction anyway.

That 0.8% isn't evenly distributed across the U.S.

Think swing states.

That's not true. I'm not a moron and other people raised their eyebrows to that ignorant decision to have only a Muslim prayer.

Brother, you should stop with the name calling. I know you have been mad at me for over 5 years now, anyone who disagrees with the democratic party for that matter. I have tried to see your point on many topics so I can understand your anger a little more than I already do. But you don't make points on topics. You just call people names or make sarcastic remarks that generally deal in stereotypes. It's silly.

Have you giving any thoughts to removing your sig? God bless

this a two-hour event (one of a multitude of diverse events most likely) by, for, and about Muslims. Why does the Cardinal feel the need to pray at that particular event? There are numerous events he can attend and bless, but why get upset that Muslims don't want your blessing?

This is the point. It is not that other religions are being forbidden from having a moment for their faith...it is that THIS particular time is for the Muslims.

I think it is politically idiotic, personally, for precisely the reason that is being demonstrated here. People don't pay attention to the whole thing, they just hear that Dolan asked to speak at a Muslim event and was denied and it makes it sound as though Catholics are being denied in favor of Muslims.

Democrats are idiotic like this, imo.

But Dolan really is a douchebag, too.

Because he is a fool who believes that he has an obligation to force his political preferences on other people of other faiths.

He is a hypocritical megalomaniac.

Other than that, he is a very nice man.

To be fair, it's not like Romney is against those things. They could throw in with the Libertarian party, but that's not as sexy.

Really? Do you think Romney would've done something different?

My point is that when it comes to civil liberties, both candidates suck balls. So unless the Muslims want to throw in with a third party, support for abolishing those programs is a wash since both candidates feel the same.

ya do know that muslims consider Catholoicism a form of athesism. Catholicism and Christiany goverened nations have given Men and Women a lot more freedoms than Islamic goverened nations. Whinin the same Muslim culture, why is it okay for a Muslim man to pursue and convert a Christian women into Islam but not okay for a muslim women to marry a Catholic man? That's sexiest and discriminatory in my opinion. They believe that Catholicism and Christiany bacame "distorted" over time. Islam is the newest coolest religion:lmao
Let me ask you this? How many guys still have their foreskin in Western nations compared to Islam goverened nations?

You think God would make a mistake in the way he created Man and Women?

Its really simple if you think about it. Back when the Quran was written, the men were clearly dominate over the women. Basically, whatever religion the husband was, the children would be brought up in the same religion. So that is why the Quran said it was ok for male Muslim men to marry Christian or Jewish women since the children would be brought up as Muslims. However, if a Muslim woman married a non-Muslim, then the children would most likely be non-Muslim. That's common sense.

Also, you have to look at why Islamic governed nations are not as free as other nations. Most of them are not democratic with the exception of places like Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, and some of the African countries. The rest are ruled by dictators, clerics, and monarchs. Those types of rulers rarely allow freedom regardless of religion. That's common sense as well.

You're serious aren't you?

All things aside, even if I accept your theory that they are the same person, then there's no risk in voting for the other guy considering the state of the economy, rising cost of premiums (thanks to Obamacare), jobless rate, a complete flip from American ideology, class warfare, etc.
