On a pissed off note: new AD, new conference, new HC, same bullshit excuse for a football team.

On a serious note: Manziel played as well as you could ask for a freshman in one of the biggest games ever played at Kyle. He ran too much for my liking but that wasn't all his fault - play calling went to shit in the second half. QB draw, bubble screen, 2 yard pass, etc. Kliff is obviously scared to let this guy throw downfield as his arm strength has been a big question mark. If we don't open it up a LOT more against SMU, we might only win the OOC games (4 win season). I guess they didn't want to have him throw 3 picks and destroy his confidence so they just had him do dump off passes all game.

Christine Michael, our best player, needs to get almost twice the amount of touches as he got today. He was underutilized in the worst way. Not sure if they're scared of his knee and are holding him back or they just were making terrible playcalls.

Trey Williams and Mike Evans will be monsters in the next few years.

Ryan Swope had 5 receptions. Not enough. Not sure if he's not quick/athletic enough to beat these corners in man coverage or if it's on the playcalling yet again. Swope needs to play big for us this season if we want to sniff 6-7 wins.

While Florida has a terrible offense overall, their line is good. I was impressed with our ability to keep up with them for the most part considering how thin we are up front. I'm pleased with our secondary overall - seems like there has been an upgrade from last year (not saying much, but still). We held them to 16 yards rushing in the first half which was great. Damontre Moore is an animal and if he can get over his attitude issues the sky is the limit for him. Potential 1st/2nd rounder.

At the end of the day, it's going to take a while for us to compete legitimately in the SEC. Sumlin will get his 5 years here and if he wins he'll obviously get more. He's recruiting well so far and if he can continue to get solid classes and get these guys to sign on February 1st then we'll see what he can do when he has them on campus. Time will tell.

this afternoon i assumed command of evening flag detail at texas a&m university as executive officer of my unit. As i marched in front of my block of 15, we came around the bend of the oceanography building to a scene of hundreds of members of fraternities and sororities partying on the steps of the administration building. As we approached the main flag pole that bears our nation's flag and that of the state of texas, we were welcomed with an uproar of boos and curses by hundreds of members of greek life.

Upon arriving at the main flag, i sent squads of 3 to the smaller flags that encircle the plaza. As myself and a squad of 4 stepped up to the main pole, it was covered with members of some fraternity partying and dancing. Luckily, college station pd, actually respecting our university and nation, dispersed the greeks who were reluctant to leave and shouted obscenities at myself and my cadets as they walked away. While the flags were lowered i brought my saber to present arms, keeping an eye on the flag to make sure it was lowered properly.

Despite harassment from countless members of greek life, my cadets were able to properly retire our nation's colors and reform the block. Despite being insulted and having items thrown at them, they kept their military bearing and executed our purpose for crashing the greek party... The purpose of showing respect to the flag for which millions have laid down their lives to defend and a symbol of freedom and liberty for all.

So i apologize to all those members of greek life who felt this wasn't a purpose worth shutting down your rap music or ceasing to shout obscenities for fifteen minutes. As i marched my platoon away, groups of greek life members thought it would be funny to block our path. I kept my bearing and announced to make way for the flag of the united states. By the steady tone of my voice and stern look of my face they got the message.

I told my freshmen that they learned a valuable lesson today. While some others party and pay no real respect to the traditions of of texas a&m university, we in the corps of cadets are the true keepers of the spirit. We will execute or duties and stand loyal to the purposes of texas a&m and of the united states of america. I am proud to be a member of the corps of cadets which has taught me the values of selfless service, honor, integrity, and discipline.

The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities is a very good public university and in some fields it is elite. In many cases, that degree would compare quite favorably against one from other, obviously inferior schools, for example, Texas Tech.

Hard to tell, I'm not a network. But A&M is a much bigger pull than TCU. Even if it was $100k, it would be a fiscally irresponsible not to take that game over TCU. As I said before, I'd rather it not happen. Much rather play LSU on Thanksgiving.
